Flu jab yes or no

Got the option through work to have the flu jab this year, early 40s, sounds silly but just don’t want big side effects! Are most people getting it this year?

Had mine, no side effects. Get it through work every year.

DoodlePug · 16/11/2022 10:58

Had it about a month ago, I never have side effects other than a slightly sore arm.

Pinkdelight3 · 16/11/2022 11:00

I'd love one. Heard there's some bad flu due this winter so why wouldn't you want to avoid that?

ExtraOnions · 16/11/2022 11:00

Had mine … no side effects

brighterthanthemoon · 16/11/2022 11:00

Got it. Side effects were horrendous. Would still get it again.

Startuplife · 16/11/2022 11:01

I’ve been having it for years and never had any side effects. If it’s free I don’t see why you wouldn’t.

AnaBananas · 16/11/2022 11:01

Yes get it. I had the flu a few weeks ago and it left me feeling very rough! As soon as I was better, I went and had the flu jab.

FatEaredFuck · 16/11/2022 11:01

I have asthma and get it every year. Aside from a sore arm I never ever have any side effects.

FatEaredFuck · 16/11/2022 11:02

My kids get it too with 0 problems

ForgetBarbie · 16/11/2022 11:03

I’ve been getting it for years because I’m asthmatic. The one year I didn’t get the flu jab, I caught the flu and honestly felt like I was going to die. I never missed it again. I’ve never had any side effects but that’s just my experience

PigLightingBastard · 16/11/2022 11:03

I had a very sore arm because the guy doing it seemed like he'd never seen a needle before. But I'd rather not get really ill with flu.

What side effects did you get?

I'm not even sure what the common side effects are.

fancyfrogs · 16/11/2022 11:04

Pregnant and had mine, no side effects absolutely fine

Achy muscles. Headache.

Namechanger03 · 16/11/2022 11:04

I wish I'd had it, I have the flu atm and I feel absolutely terrible

Chemenger · 16/11/2022 11:05

I've been paying to have it for years, never had any side effects. Flu is so awful that even if I did think the vaccine would make me feel rough for a day or two, I'd still have it.

brighterthanthemoon · 16/11/2022 11:05

Last years was fine though. I'd say go for it but just time it carefully if you've got work or a wedding the next day etc

PeloFondo · 16/11/2022 11:06

Have it every year and had it with the covid one this year
Felt sick overnight but think that was the covid one. Usually get a sore arm
It's worth it

Yes I'd still get it again. Actually flu is worse

WhatHaveIFound · 16/11/2022 11:06

I'd have it if I were you. I'm over 50 and have had my free one but I paid for both my DC (20 & 17) to have one. No side effects for any of us.

LeafHunter · 16/11/2022 11:06

I felt tired after mine, but I’m also pregnant so it could have been that. No other implications.

TattiePants · 16/11/2022 11:06

Both DS and I had ours last week with no side effects. In fact, I couldn’t even tell where the injection site was by the next morning. I never understand why people are worried about side effects but not worried about flu!

CousinKrispy · 16/11/2022 11:08

Wish I got mine through work! I had no side effects this year. I think the protection is worth it, I hate having flu.

alpinia · 16/11/2022 11:09

Had it for years after getting flu and realising how awful proper flu is. Only ever had minor side effects one year and that was mild headache, low fever and a bit of tiredness. Totally fine within 24 hours.

APurpleSquirrel · 16/11/2022 11:09

I had mine (have asthma) a few weeks ago - but if a sore achy arm for a few days, a few muscle aches but that's it.
If you're being offered it free, get it. DH is getting his this week through work & DC had theirs weeks ago.
