To think I'm too old and knackered for this lark

Early 50's...professional job... menopausal...insomniac. Am up at 5.30am to get to London for a meeting. This is a regular occurrence and I'm feeling too old for it. Will end up staggering through the day like a zombie, barely functioning, only to get home 13 hours later and go straight to bed. Wish I could pack it all in for a low pressure job but I can't afford the pay cut.

YANBU. I'm 47 and already in a role I can comfortably do until retirement because it isn't too demanding, while being quite senior and well-paid (these roles are like gold dust). When we've paid off the mortgage and got DDs through university/more independent in a few years I'll go part time again and do the role as a job share. I only took the FT role and promotion when my colleague retired with the conditions that I only have to be in the office a maximum of three days a week - this was pre-pandemic.

And I'm not menopausal yet...but have had hormonal health/gynae problems such as endometriosis since the age of 40 so have already had a flavour of it. Also had stress and depression before that after having DDs (work brought most of it on). So I quickly learned to priortise my health and change my approach to work and find the right roles, otherwise I was on a path to very poor mental health/breakdown, diabetes, heart problems and other things caused by excess weight and stress.

Feeling so much of the things discussed on this thread even though I'm only in my forties. Every day is like walking through treacle at the moment.

Quick question Re supplements though, if you start taking a lot can they interfere with one another? I already take Iron, and Biotin & Zinc, but looking to introduce Vit D and B12.. I'm not on HRT yet but currently monitoring symptoms so i can argue with the GP but im nervoud of taking "too much"?

Have a look at the Mayo Clinic website. They have a lot of information about vitamins and other supplements, including this article:
