General election tomorrow - who do you vote for?

I'm so sick of this government and reading a lot of the posts on here, it feels like on the one hand, so are lots of people, but there are also lots of other people who are very sceptical about labour or lib dem or greens. Added to which, there are so many issues at the moment, I know there's a lot of GC and what makes a woman, that is particularly important at the moment, and cost of living, private rentals, the environment, etc etc

So knowing what you know about the parties, if there was a general election tomorrow, who would you vote for..

YABU - Tories
YANBU - Labour
Comment for a third option

I used to be green, but I'm so not sure any more. So I think I'd vote labour, to stand best chance of keeping Tories out. (What I'd really like to vote for is a more representative government)

If you want things to be better in this country then you vote

And you vote for whoever can keep the Tories out of the only seat you can vote in.

Because we've had 13 years of them and we know how that goes.

>gestures at the everything that doesn't work anymore in this county<

That's how I see it anyway.

maddiemookins16mum · 27/05/2023 19:27

Lib Dems.

verdantverdure · 27/05/2023 19:31

Amboseli · 27/05/2023 19:08

@verdantverdure yes it is rare! Useless though. Lib dem council as well, even worse than the MP. We had a Tory for one term after coalition uni fees fiasco but lib dem back in after. I think the UK's problems started decades ago and think we're so far down the f*cked route that there's no hope.

We're going to emigrate so I'm kind of detached from it all now which is better for my health and keeps my blood pressure down.

I know so many people who are emigrating. We've got another "leaving the country" barbecue to go to tomorrow.

It's not usually the sign of a great country when the young want to leave, but I guess record levels of emigration will make the record levels of immigration look lower in the net migration figures. Grin

@Kazzyhoward

Boris Johnson only won because the opposition was the hapless Jeremy Corbyn who couldn't decide whether he was for Brexit or Not (or too frightened to say what he really

You make it sound like you think Boris and his oven ready brexit deal was a good thing 😂

Rosscameasdoody · 27/05/2023 19:42

Labour. Best bet to get the tories out.

MargotBamborough · 27/05/2023 19:45

Spoiled ballot.

Probably a drawing of a penis with "women don't have one of these" written next to it.

cardibach · 27/05/2023 19:47

Whoever gets or keeps a Tory out. It’s the only sensible vote.
and all the ‘they’re all the same’ people - no. No. They’re not. That’s what Tories want you to think so you don’t vote and they get back in.

The party that will evict the Tories in my constituency.

This which I think would mean voting for Lib Dems where I am

I guess I feel like I don't have the luxury of wasting my vote in that way.

I feel honour-bound to try and make things better for my children and my country.

And after 13 years of the Tories that means doing the only thing I can to try and keep them out:

Vote tactically for whoever has a chance of beating our safe seat Tory.

Yeah, in our gerrymandered by Tories country awaited vote is a vote for the Tories.

Why do you think they brought in voter ID?

CurlewKate · 27/05/2023 20:02

Hold my nose and Labour.

Absolutely this. You have to be immensely privileged to do anything else.

Lib dem

Women's rights are a red line for me and none of the parties are willing to protect them. I've voted Lib Dem in the past and was planning to vote Labour this time, but both have demonstrated their complete and utter contempt for women, so.

In any case, I vote in a safe seat so every vote I have ever cast has been a protest vote. This time no one has done enough to deserve my protest vote.

TastesLikeStrawberriesOnASummerEvening · 27/05/2023 20:11

Spoil.
I live in Scotland, won't vote Tory and women's right are very important to me.

Cariadm · 27/05/2023 20:16

Jourdain11 · 26/05/2023 23:33

Nobody - I don't vote!

Then I hope you don't feel able or entitled to complain about ANYTHING as you can't be bothered to put one little cross on one little bit of paper EVERY 4 YEARS...
You can even do it by post so don't even have to leave home!! Our democracy may not be perfect but it's the only one we have until the First Passed the Post voting system is changed to Proportional Representation.
If you're female you should be really shamed as many women suffered and even DIED to finally be given the right to vote!

That's why I will make the effort to spoil rather than just not show up.

It's not that I don't care. It's that they're all shit.

pointythings · 27/05/2023 18:25

@Colourfingers2 all I've done was rebut the myths you posted. If you have a problem with that, you're part of the problem the UK has - which is deep political apathy and illiteracy.

You know absolutely nothing about me. Can’t you do any better than that for an insult. Bit pathetic really I’m hardly going to be offended by that am I. Try harder, must do better.

ToeJammed · 27/05/2023 20:24

The conservative party.

FatFilledTrottyPuss · 26/05/2023 23:39

This, except 49 years!

Your logic is somewhat warped because by not voting at all your vote is surely wasted anyway?! Even if you're generally disillusioned surely you must accept that you simply have to vote tactically for WHATEVER PARTY in your area is likely to assist in the DEPOSING of this present bunch of corrupt and inept narcissistic nasties, the worst government in living history and certainly in my lifetime of 75 years!! Women suffered and died to be given the right to vote and you flippantly dismiss the privilege as if it's NOTHING?! 🤔😢😱

RafaistheKingofClay · 27/05/2023 20:33

Independent or Lib Dem. Will depend on how the new boundaries work out.

CurlewKate · 27/05/2023 20:37

"None of them I have never seen such a shower of incompetent deluded shite in Parliament in all my 48 years. Votes were hard won over centuries for ordinary working women and men so I refuse to waste mine on any of the current encumbents."

This makes no sense.

I hope that will make you feel SO MUCH better if and when the Tories get in for another 5 years?! People like you who are more interested in selfishly making a rather illogical 'point' than seeing the bigger picture and understanding what the priority is!!
We need to do WHATEVER we can to rid the country of the worst 'state hating' government in living memory who are intent on completely wrecking the country both socially and economically!! But, hey, you make your little protest, that will REALLY help, not!!! 😱😡
