@StuntPineapples what the fuck is wrong with you?

The bigger the hoop the bigger the ho'??

You clearly hate your own sex.

That's a terrible thing to say

You should be ashamed of yourself.

You're a bad woman.

Calm down (again) @EastCoker! @StuntPineapples didn't actually coin the phrase themselves, you know! I'm sure they're not walking around calling people a 'ho' in real life, inwardly or otherwise.

P. S. I like hoop earrings 😃

Kanaloa · 16/11/2022 09:44

Leggings under a dress
Flip flops
Long sleeved t shirts, especially if they’re stripy
Sleeveless cardigans or jackets

Crayfishforyou · 16/11/2022 09:45

Anything shaped like a sack
pinafore dresses
nude coloured leggings
really thin leggings that are see through
sportswear when not doing anything remotely exercise related
puffer jackets
fake pockets
trousers with no pockets

Cut out shoulders
High waisted jeans that make bums look flat and wide
Lace anything
Most animal prints
shorts with tights I despair

Nothing makes my bum look flat. Wide yes flat no.

If the earring or hoop is small enough in diameter and subtle then I think that gold looks 'cheap' if that's not the best metal for your season or skin tone. You can be any ethnicity or colouring, some people suit gold and some don't and I think gold looks cheap and jarring when it's on the wrong skin tone and people's season and tone can change so something might suit in winter when you are paler with darker hair for example but when you've tanned and hair bleached by the sun and sea doesn't work anymore. Make up also plays a role if you have pink, peach or bronze hues.

So my theory is that it's done to clashing or harmony with your colouring which includes hair and make up.

As long as you tell me where you got it, because I want one too! 😁

I do see your point! I don't wear them anymore (mainly because it's just asking for trouble with my toddler's grasping hands), but I have a soft spot for them, because I loved them in the nineties! 😎

Theradioisoncoco · 16/11/2022 10:42

Tell me what kind of jeans are in fashion if skinnies are out? They're the only type that vaguely suit me, I've tried all sorts of other shapes and styles and I just look dreadful

What don't I like? Cold shoulder tops I loathe, anything else fine!

I like bootcut, skinny flares and turned up straight leg.

I'm quite confused about skinnies (I used to wear them a lot). I see some people in them and think they look dated but them I saw a relative in their 20's who is stunning wearing them with knee high boots I thought she looked lovely.

DesertIslandCondiment · 16/11/2022 10:55

Sorry about my appalling grammar there.

DesertIslandCondiment · 16/11/2022 11:01

Oh & I look dreadful in Mom & Boyfriend jeans.

I don't like cold shoulder tops either.
| don't wear denim or leather jackets but they are fine on other people.
I don't wear really flat shoes or really high shoes, I like a bit of chunk.

DraftPunk · 16/11/2022 11:10

Only one (very specific) from me. Really obvious designer branding in massive letters, particularly in gold metal, on anything.

Gold metal lettering seen yesterday encircling the top of winter boots. Arghh awful.

MrsDooDaa · 16/11/2022 11:30

Skinny and cropped jeans with boots are most practical for winter, so still look OK in that context IMO.

Maybe the dated look is skinny with ballet pumps/trainers etc?

I think it’s just like super skinny jeans that are out - fitted jeans are fine.

But who cares what in or out. If wearing what’s “in” doesn’t match your style then there’s no point.

Yes, I think it is more what footwear you wear with them.

I have no skinnies or long boots anymore though.

I may have to rethink.

etulosba · 16/11/2022 11:38

Jumper with no arms? You mean a sweater vest? 😂

In my day they were called sleeveless pullovers, or tank tops if you were trendy.

CulturePigeon · 16/11/2022 12:27

Over-sexualised clothing: those horrible bum-scrunch leggings for example. All clothing is sending a message - so what is the message here? I bet it's not a subtle one!

Tops and dresses with gaps showing the shoulders.

Frills and flounces.

Denim shorts, and all very short shorts.

Trainers when worn as a fashion item - especially if pristine white. (This may be a hangover from when a friend of my teenage daughter arrived for a day out with us in trainers so white they dazzled. She spent the whole day fussing about whether she might get a dirty mark on her trainers....they're shoes, fgs.)

Boring sweatshirts - remind me of the 70s in a bad way!

Court shoes/stilettos worn with jeans or full-length trousers. Somehow they work better with capri pants or cropped trousers.

High-necked tops/dresses.

Mother of the Bride-type outfits which have very limited wearability.

Toast, COS , Boden and Jules are my worst nightmares

Cos does fantastic simple cashmere. Nothing anyone could he offended by

I’m really sorry you all hate DMs. As a woman with size 10 feet and hyper mobility which requires orthotics/arch support I can really only comfortably wear DMs (or Birkenstock sandals in summer). Fortunately I think they are pretty iconic and can’t see why anyone wouldn’t like them.

For me it's the fussiness and round toed-ness. Too much bright stitching and too bold holes. Toes are round like a clown.

cardibach · 16/11/2022 13:27

Luredbyapomegranate · 15/11/2022 23:35

@cardibach

I really like docs, but need arch support and never find Them comfortable. Do you wear a particular style?

Mostly the shoes, but I put my orthotic insoles in to support the arches. Docs are generous enough in width/height to make this comfortable. Other shoes I can sometimes get in a 10, eg from Simply Be are not comfy with the insoles (and therefore not at all after a few
minutes) plus they aren’t usually leather so feet get all sweaty and uncomfortable from that too.

EndlessRain · 16/11/2022 13:29

I~'m not into the whole oversized boxy fashion thing. I can't help but think it's massively unflattering on most people.

But the rest is due to age. Things are coming around that was in trend when I was in my teens, so I can't help but think they are outdated.

BigMandsTattooPortfolio · 16/11/2022 13:35

Backless dresses (it’s winter ffs!) and that hideous monstrosity of 2022 - the micromini that looks like some kind of grotesque belt.

RunAwayTurnAwayRunAwayTurnAway · 16/11/2022 13:39

Cold shoulder sleeves.
