To think the public should stop voting for matt Hancock to do every trial

Hdaniels11 · 12/11/2022 16:15

Aren't the public getting bored of constantly seeing him do the trials? I would understand if he was funny to watch whilst doing it but he just gets on with it! Every trial he has done he has brought all the stars back to camp and didn't seem phased at all while doing the eating trial with Boy George.
It will be terribly boring if he continues to do one every day. It also makes it a very easy ride for the rest of the campmates, not one of them have done a trial at all it's ridiculous.

@ReneBumsWombats “Why would anyone want to do any of those things?”

errr because they are celebrities, they live or die by media exposure and the person doing the trial gets 5 times more airtime than anyone else.the only reason why they go on the show is for exposure and at the moment Matt is the only one getting any

Oxo01 · 13/11/2022 18:09

Apart from the money they get paid to be there. I think most would like to try and do a trial
Unless they just want to get paid for doing nothing which may be the case.

They dont look too upset not getting the trials, perhaps they all need to say they are not being paid to sit on their arses so could the producers change the voting or trial rules, they all say thank you when they dont get picked

Oxo01 · 13/11/2022 18:25

Agree that rules should be changed

@MarshaMelrose I absolutely agree with you that he shouldn’t have gone. I’ve meant that HE actually went to the show for the money and to improve his public image not that he had any other reason in mind. I know he’s saying that he wanted to show the human side of politicians and campaign for dyslexia, but it’s all lies. He could campaign while staying at home and doing his job.

I know what you meant. They ALL go into the show for money and to improve their career prospects. And they ALL always say they wanted to challenge themselves and other such crap. Why would Matt Hancock be different?

You don't like him, you don't want to like him and you don't want anyone else to like him either. That's your prerogative. Personally, I like his can do/will do attitude. He knows he's public enemy no 1 but he's taking it on the chin and just getting on with it. I can't blame anyone who feels they've been unjustly vilified from trying to redeem his name. It'll be interesting to see how it plays out.

because he’s got a job. Is he on holiday or other kind of unpaid leave? No. That’s the difference.

Chris Moyles is actually coming across as evil.

I actually saw him in a pub once a few years ago and he was shooting daggers at anyone who caught his eye. He actually came across as threatening in a ‘gift of fear’ way.

Endlesssummer2022 · 13/11/2022 19:45

Just reread my previous post. Have clearly picked up DS’s phraseology. He says ‘actually’ every other word which I pull him up on and now I’m doing it!

The people who get the most success after this show seem to be the ones who didn't do many trials...possibly because not being chosen is a sign that the public likes them.

Who are you thinking of? In terms of success after

Sparklingbrook · 13/11/2022 19:55

I'm not expecting to see BG all over the place after his stint in there. I don't believe he's doing it for that in any case. Same as MT.

CM might get a few more listeners to his show I suppose.

Not sure about the rest of them as I don't know enough about them or their motives for doing it really. Who wants to boost their career the most?

But you said that HE has gone on the show for money and to improve his profile. The implication being neither of those things motivated the others. But they're all the same. No difference.

Arenanewbie · 13/11/2022 20:30

@MarshaMelrose
i said Hope he will be voted out soon because he has to do his job, we pay him for this not for crawling through holes and eating bugs to improve his public image.
and when you’ve asked, I’ve explained that I’ve meant that he himself wanted to improve his image, I didn’t mean that I thought that it would improve his image. I just said that he’s paid for doing his job not for these extra activities. As far as I’m aware he is MP and is supposed to be in Parliament now. He is not on leave or holiday. I don’t know what arrangements other contestants have but it’s in the news that MH hasn’t got a leave or holiday to be on the show.

CrotchetyQuaver · 13/11/2022 22:18

I think it makes for pretty boring viewing with Hancock doing every trial. He's doing a pretty good job of getting on with it and getting as many stars as he can. I'd like to see some of the others have a go and see how they get on. Particularly moyles and Tindall

HappyHamsters · 13/11/2022 22:36

Time for chris, george, mike and sue to stop sniping and be given trials. See how well they do.

Very true

Bluekerfuffle · 13/11/2022 23:32

MarshaMelrose · 13/11/2022 01:18

I think that's far from true. I'd guess most contestants would go in there thinking they're going to show only a good side, but it's impossible to keep that up 24/7. The climate is hard to live in, the beds are uncomfortable, it's boring and tedious, the food is basic and not great. The feel lonely and exposed. Of course, they all want to be thought of as nice but it's impossible for them not to be snappy and argumentative when they're tired, irrutable, bored and missing home. That's just being human. And you can bet the production team will grab all those moments and it will be out of proportion to the actual incident. We know that from what's happened in previous years.
But if he comes across as agreeable and good-humoured, there's every likelihood that's because he is.

I think it’s easy enough if that’s what you set out to do. It’s not being made difficult for him, he has enough people being nice to him, but even with that he slipped a bit and got a bit shirty when Sue was annoyed that he had left a dirty bowl of water and razor behind. I don’t think he’s a nice, agreeable person in reality. He’s shown no regard for his poor wife. She is well rid of him, but could have done without the public humiliation and lack of remorse shown.

itsgettingweird · 14/11/2022 07:39

Did anyone else spot (Saturdays show I think?) when they talked about camp leader and someone made a quip about it to MH and about it being camp and not Tory and he said something like "not yet".

I guess that explains why he's so keen to get in and get on. If he wants to redeem himself on the public eye and run for PM?

I don't think the Tory's or country will go for it - but it explains his motivation?

Or....it was just a quip back. 🙄

HappyHamsters · 14/11/2022 11:01

Its all so contrived, MH will get every trial then be the first to be voted out, the rest of the camp will continue moaning about him being there and the sniping and bullying will continue.

littleHollow · 14/11/2022 19:41

Half of the people don't even know why they are mad at him. It's just other people's opinions and they don't want to be odd one out.

GoinSouth · 14/11/2022 22:08

Caught up with last night, oh FFS not again! All the others are having an easy ride but need those smug smiles wiped off their two-faces. Just pathetic.

twelly · 12/11/2022 23:28

I think that MH is coming across well, I am not a tory voter and am critical of the lockdowns but have nothing against him. I feel he's coming across as quite a genuine person. Some of the others in the jungle in my view are not coming across at all well. I would like to think the public will soon move in the way they view MH

I agree,he knows he's not well liked so is getting on with it.
I haven't seen tonights but the person who needs a few trials is Boy George.
He needs to realise how hard they actually are, especially doing a few on the trot

BarmyArmy22 · 14/11/2022 23:21

Hancock is a twunt of the highest order. Dear public please keep reminding him of this by voting for the loathsome prick for each & every uncomfortable, revolting task. Do it for all the people in care homes that he helped massacre wrapped his protective arms round.

Which campmates do you think don't know about Hancock's double standards behaviour? Unless they've been living under a rock they know! Jill's heckle to him about whether the camp leaders rules were guidance or law was class.
