Most of these are not back handed compliments, they’re just straight up insults! Have you actually heard people say these? With a straight face?

My neighbour said the same thing to me.

My dad said (after my eldest was born) You're actually a good parent. Years ago I would have thought different but you're not doing too bad. Says the man who wouldn't pay child maintenance when I was little.

Ooh, I have that exact same dress. Doesn't suit me either.

My DM was excellent at back handed compliments, as in, that dress looks lovely on from the back.

Depends on the delivery, context and who is saying it. It is implying the rest of you is not looking so great.

@Usernamen I can’t take ‘credit’ for those… I did the lazy thing and looked online, was surprised to find so many. Thought there was a few good ones there though?

Although maybe not ‘in the spirit’ of the thread to google them?
