What date is next Wednesday?

Having an ongoing debate about this. Please settle it for me (preferably so I win) 😁

It’s ‘next’ Wednesday because it’s ‘next’ week, which starts on Monday.

Although I’d refer to it as ‘this Wednesday’ once we got to Monday/Tuesday, then next Wednesday would be the next one, the 23rd.

I'm assuming one of you is saying the 23rd due to a this week/next week debate?

Some people say that the 16th would be this Wednesday and so the 23rd is next Wednesday

The 16th. My pet hate is when people say next actually meaning the following week. Because 'next' surely means the next one. Not the one after. We have this row in the office frequently 😂

but as you are so early in the seven day cycle many people would say next Wednesday IS the 16th.

Agree "next" is for "next" week. Next Wednesday is the 16th because it's not Monday yet. On Monday "This" Weds will be the 16th and "Next" will be the 23rd.
