Why do they bother some posters?

Because the person resurrecting them is doing it on purpose to mess with what posts are showing in active.
They have literally resurrected about 10 for no reason.
They did it last night too.

There’s a strange fish who likes to bump them for fun. They get banned by MN come back and create another to repeat the process. Must not have much going on in their life bless ‘em.

Because if you don't notice at first you might spend ages reading the thread and typing out a comment, only to discover the OP is about 10 years old so anything you were about to say is irrelevant. So there is 20 minutes of your life you won't get back.

Bad enough if someone has resurrected one accidentally, but just lately someone has obviously been resurrecting these on purpose. Possibly the same person who posted the annoying troll hunting posts.

@Merryoldgoat The people doing this - resurrecting old threads from the noughties, are doing it deliberately. Feck knows why, but it is supremely annoying and as stupid as fuck. What is the point? Absolute idiots they are.

I comment on old threads sometimes, or "ressurect" them as you would say. I don't get why it's a problem if it's the same topic, it means it's still interesting?

Also, especially when they're advice on medical or career stuff, it means the whole thread comtains a lot of useful info for someone in the future

How about a system which allows only the OP to resurrect a zombie thread? Would that even be possible?

I do this in YouTube comments all the time, because the algorithm reshows me video's I've seen before.
