Are Pringles getting worse?

Specifically salt and vinegar flavour. You used to have a get the odd dud tube (slightly stale no favour) but now they all taste like that.

Have I been unlucky? Do I need to find a new preferred crisp?

YABU: Pringles are still good, you are problem

YANBU: don't waste your money, get yourself a new brand!

Gone right off them myself.

Papergirl1968 · 10/11/2022 18:41

I used to.love them till I tried Aldi (think they're called Stackers). Now can't stand Pringles.

Agnes2507 · 10/11/2022 18:54

Thanks for this thread. I'm now craving pringles in more than one flavour! Even if it is just to test out if they are as bad as everyone says. I've not had them in a while, but I never thought they tasted like soggy cardboard! Quite the opposite, I love the crunch.

lljkk · 10/11/2022 19:13

I didn't think it was possible for them to taste worse.

Food doesn’t get more processed than Pringles. Utterly vile.

Off you pop then, continue eating your ethnic vegetable peace crisps whilst spouting pointless drivel on threads to which you have 0 value to add.

+1 for Pringles being a shadow of what they used to be, so bland now.

Beneficialchampion2 · 10/11/2022 19:20

Peak Pringles were the rice infusion ones, packed with flavour, going back 15+ years though

isthismylifenow · 10/11/2022 19:25

I am not a fan as they aren't real crisps, but buy them every now and then as the DC like them.

Dd offered me some after she'd tucked into the tube so there was less than half left. I couldn't get my hand in the tube!! They've made the tube smaller to fit the smaller crisps.

If love to know how a big burly bloke gets them out without tipping them all out.

I am properly conscious of the fact I have big hands now....

I bought a packet of scampi fries a few months ago, tasted of nothing. Cue a massive rant from me to my DP about how they aren’t what they used to be. Ended up being due to me having covid 😬

for top tier salt and vinegar flavour you need to get yourself to a coop ASAP and get their own brand sea salt and Chardonnay crisps. Thank me later 🤤

Seconding this, these are fantastic salt and vinegar crisps

MyCrumpetIsCold · 10/11/2022 19:39

They’ve reduced the carton size from 200g to 165g 🤬I still buy the Sour Cream when they’re on offer though, couldn’t comment on the Salt & Vinegar.

Don’t they do both sizes anymore?

I’m sure they had tubes in both the 200g size and the 165g size the last time I got Pringles at Tesco, although to be fair that was a month or two ago

Myleakycauldron · 10/11/2022 19:55

OK I'm glad it's not just me. The salt and vinegar ones used to make my lips tingle - in a good way! Will get down the Co Op (no Aldi near me unfortunately otherwise I'd be intrigued by an improved counterfeit Pringle).

S&V Pringles literally took the skin off my lips the last time I had them!

SwedishEdith · 10/11/2022 20:11

They have a kind of thin greasy texture to them now. Will still eat them but they don't seem to have as much of the powdery flavour coating any more. Love the burning lips sensation of salt and vinegar Pringles but agree that the Co-op Chardonnay ones are the best.

LondonQueen · 10/11/2022 20:47

I want pringles now!

WutheredOut · 10/11/2022 20:48

They’ve just bought out chicken and stuffing flavour multigrain Pringles … that’s almost an actual health food

SomethingPunny · 10/11/2022 20:53

I used to love BBQ Pringles and bought them regularly but a year or two ago they changed the recipe and they're awful now. Plus they added milk so they are no longer suitable for vegans. I'm not vegan so not an issue for me, but why would they do that?

Summerishere123 · 10/11/2022 20:57

I had a mini tub last week and the flavour nearly burnt my tongue! I find the larger tubs have less flavour.

Mittens1717 · 10/11/2022 20:58

Pringles are food of the gods, not a fan of salt and vinegar but I love the sour cream and onion, and cheese and onion
