Are Pringles getting worse?

Specifically salt and vinegar flavour. You used to have a get the odd dud tube (slightly stale no favour) but now they all taste like that.

Have I been unlucky? Do I need to find a new preferred crisp?

YABU: Pringles are still good, you are problem

YANBU: don't waste your money, get yourself a new brand!

They're still good, although I bought once BBQ flavour and they almost didn't have any spices on them- I think it must have been some one off, because it was just this one tub.

Dotjones · 10/11/2022 13:54

Never really cared for Pringles since they stopped doing the ridged ones. Normal ones just seem too thin now, feels like they're getting thinner but it's probably my imagination.

GoodnightJude1 · 10/11/2022 13:54

Each and every S&V Pringle I have ever eaten (more then a few) has been of Michelin star quality.

I really fancy some now 😋

girlmom21 · 10/11/2022 13:55

They don't taste like they used to. Someone will be along in a minute to tell us to do a covid test Grin

God I want your kind of Pringle luck!

Pringles are vile and disgusting. In every flavour. You just for liking them at all 🤣 they have the texture of soggy cardboard when you eat them.

LadyKenya · 10/11/2022 14:00

Pringles are not good.

Luckynumbereight · 10/11/2022 14:00

It’s the salt police, OP. They have ruined every crisp out there. 🙁

KimberleyClark · 10/11/2022 14:00

Pringles are made from reconstituted dried mashed potato rather than actual potato slices.

Myleakycauldron · 10/11/2022 14:02

I always felt like they were an aspirational crisp 😂

I have the opposite issue with them

Have found over the last year Pringles seem to have too much seasoning, makes them inedible - too salty and vinegary, Texas BBQ seem to only have half the crisp seasoned, but it’s so heavily seasoned it hurts

OneTC · 10/11/2022 17:03

They're getting thinner so if you use them for dipping then they break more often

Hooverphobe · 10/11/2022 17:08

At £3 a tube (rrp) they can STOP!

allthecrooksandnannies · 10/11/2022 17:09

I had some really dodgy BBQ ones recently. Still ate them though!

PeekabooAtTheZoo · 10/11/2022 17:38

YANBU I've gone off Pringles of late. They seem smaller than they used to be as well.

misskatamari · 10/11/2022 17:40

Honestly - get to Aldi and try their own brand ones! They used to be quite crap, but they changed them a while ago and now I prefer them to actual pringles!

CryCeratops · 10/11/2022 17:44

Most of the Pringles I’ve bought recently have been disappointingly bland without much flavouring in them.

Seconded

Trinity65 · 10/11/2022 18:17

Lidl "Pringles" are very nice
Only had the Cheese and Chive I think it is
Prefer them to actual Pringles and on my shopping list for tomorrow

LikeTearsInRain · 10/11/2022 18:18

Can’t stand Pringles breath and they are really low quality carbs so generally I avoid

Do you mean the pack size or the actual crisp?

Agreed, revolting things, like eating damp cardboard.

AppleDumplingWithCustard · 10/11/2022 18:34

I haven’t tried them for ages because the last lot I had were a shadow of their former selves. They aren’t crisp any more and taste and feel slightly stale.

Zombiemumbie · 10/11/2022 18:35

for top tier salt and vinegar flavour you need to get yourself to a coop ASAP and get their own brand sea salt and Chardonnay crisps. Thank me later 🤤

Halloweenshock · 10/11/2022 18:37

Food doesn’t get more processed than Pringles. Utterly vile.
