zflora down the loo.

StaceySolomonSwash · 05/11/2022 15:38

Keep it clean, well ventilated and loo cleaner down the pan last thing at night.

SpookyMcGhoul · 05/11/2022 15:38

Always cleaned well, window open for maybe half an hour a day, I also have a dish of bath bombs in my main bathroom that smell fab. En-suites are just well aired and cleaned at least twice a week, always smell fresh that way for me!

ShinyMe · 05/11/2022 15:41

I just clean it. And have the window open sometimes. Is there any more to it than that?

Zoflora in the toilet and a little bit in the sink with the plug in last thing means it's nice in the morning and also a few drops of essential oils inside the toilet roll tube

Rippled · 05/11/2022 15:45

Since when? Since doing something nasty in it?

Mamamia7962 · 05/11/2022 15:47

I use a sensor air freshener. As soon as someone walks into the bathroom it goes off and then will only go off again 20 minutes later if someone walks past it. Makes the bathroom smell lovely.

lobsterkiller · 05/11/2022 15:49

I clean it and I always have the window on vent., even in cold months.

I've just had the bathroom redone since moving here, it never smelled nice/fresh. There was a small leak and the floorboards had mould on them from it, the leak was masked by rubble under the floor boards.

ManefesationofConciousness · 05/11/2022 15:59

Are you a secret poo troll?
Why an obsession with bathroom smells

They smell as they smell which is usually pretty nice as lot of smelly stuff gets used in there

FuzzyPuffling · 05/11/2022 16:01

Open the window.

2Late · 05/11/2022 16:02

Have a bath with Badedas oil or that other one (blue liquid in glass bottle) which I've forgotten the name of.

PortiasBiscuit · 05/11/2022 16:03

If you eat a sensible healthy diet your pop doesn’t really smell so you tend not to get a smelly bathroom in the first place.

Name99 · 05/11/2022 16:03

Toilet duck fresh discs in the toilet bowl, they smell for quite a long time and when you flush it reactivates them

RealDeeBliss · 05/11/2022 16:11

Bar soap, can smell it even when it's just sitting in the dish.

Utter rubbish.
I eat a very good diet and my poo smells!!

RedWingBoots · 05/11/2022 16:14

Clean it a minimum of once a week, make sure all towels and bath mats dry out properly, and keep a window open for ventilation as much as you can.

justasking111 · 05/11/2022 16:15

I use diluted zoflora on a cloth for wiping around then put it on the towel rail the scent lasts for days

Sorry that thats just utter shite (lol!) - it's perfectly normal for poo to smell, it does not mean there is anything wrong with you!

Our bathrooms just smell neutral most of the time (unless someone has just been in there for a shit, or unless someone has been for a shower in which case it smells of wash stuff). I can't really be arsed constantly spraying and pouring chemicals everywhere all the time to make it smell of perfume. I have a reed diffuser in each one and clean them regularly but that's it.

If there is a funny smell in there all the time then it's highly likely there is a leak somewhere, even a small one can really smell over time, or something up with the drains.

🤔

There is a rather well-known saying about people who believe this!… although I never realised it was meant to be taken literally.

LondonJax · 05/11/2022 16:21

I've got a spray bottle with water and zoflora in it which I use to give the loo a quick wipe around each night. If it gets a bit smelly during the day but the loo itself is clean, I just spray a bit of the liquid down the loo and round the pan. Especially in the cold weather when opening the window makes the loo seat feel like sitting on a block of ice!

2Late · 05/11/2022 16:21

What is this zoflora I keep hearing about on Mumsnet? Does it actually smell nice? As in, nice like an expensive spa or one of the better brand of hand-wash gels...

My MIL has one of those, it's awful just awful. Who wants to be blasted in the face with a load of horrible chemicals every time you go into the loo? I turn the stoopid thing around to face the wall whenever I'm there
