To feel low about it getting dark early

I can't explain it really cos it's not logical, but these dark evenings seem to be making me feel anxious. Maybe everything seems worse this year with the cost of living and the constant bad news. I also feel less like going out in the evenings when it gets dark so early.

This thread’s been an education - i knew a lot of people hated summer heat but genuinely had no idea there were people who hated light evenings!

I hate the dark mornings and evenings - this time of year is the worst.

It is grey, cold and wet. Haven't seen any sun for over a week. I feel depressed

It was sunny in Manchester today, but the temperature has definitely dropped.

Roll on next spring.

I would prefer more light in the mornings in summer as it's often still cool enough to garden.

One reason I hate long light evenings is the noise from kids in the area. The sooner it gets dark out, the sooner they quiet down.

i hate this time of year, the sense of impending doom (thanks to all the winter covid lockdowns!). Having to put my chickens to bed at 4pm (because the fox will be out at dusk), going out into the veg patch at 5pm with my head torch because it’s dark and I need a bloody leek for dinner.

Lets not mention the cold, shivering under heavy layers. I basically want to wear barely anything in 25-30 degree heat that’s peak happiness/relaxation for me!

My retirement dream is November to February somewhere in warm.

It just cripples me every single year. I’ve got health anxiety on top of SAD and I am exhausted. Especially worrying about DD when there’s no need to. Draining isn’t the word

I love November, got married during this month. The autumn colours are amazing and it's so so nice not to feel hot and sweaty (I am at that certain age!) Winter clothes start coming out of the wardrobe and I sleep so much better due to the darker mornings. I hate Feb and March however as just cold and wet and definitely depressing and the season change is still way off
