Madonna - went from candy to money

I don’t understand her recent Instagram post where she says she went from candy to money. Admittedly I’m not very “up” on modern parlance, which is why I’m asking - what does it actually mean?

She's like Elizabeth the First. Looking progressively freakish trying to maintain their youth but no one brave or foolish enough to tell them.
It's incredibly sad and frustrating that women are judged on their looks and nothing has changed in 400 years.

She hasn't been right ever since she had that bad fall at the Brit Awards. I think it affected her much more than she let on and she started using copious amount of drugs to get through the pain - something she was always against doing.

I can’t see anything round her neck - and would be surprised if Madonna went to the trouble of donning fake boobs, especially as 1) she’s got the real ones out before (see her Sex book) and 2) why would she bother covering the nipples if they were fake ones anyway?

Her thinking is this: “ I’m over 60 and if I age naturally and act my age people will criticise me for that. If I keep myself youthful with all kinds of plastic surgery and I don’t act my age then people will criticise me for that. So I might as well choose the latter.”

She hasn't got anything round her neck, in the photo where she's bending forward you can see the boob veins and clearly nothing around her neck! I mean they're undoubtedly a boob job but not prosthetics being worn.

I tried Google but all that came up was that she brought out an album called hard candy and a song called candy shop 🤷‍♀️

Buy why, WHY is she doing this? Just for attention and publicity? Coz it sure ain't helping her music sell. I don't know anyone who has bought her music in the past decade. I used to be a huge Madonna fan and have all her records/CDs/DVDs etc up to around 2010. Frankly she makes me cringe now. She looks bizarre, she is only famous for her wacky behaviour, flashing her tits and arse, hanging around with people 30-40 years younger, and having various procedures on her face. Her photos are hilariously filtered, and I can't even put into words what she looks like!

Not that Madonna would or should care what I think and she's welcome to do what she wants with her cash, I'm disappointed she's gone for such a generic-blow-up-doll-Kardashian surgeried look and trying to look literally like she's in her 20s.

I think there's something a bit desperate-seeming about literally trying to look 40 years younger - I mean, have some surgery if you really want to, but being in total denial about your age like that seems a bit beneath her somehow. I kind of thought she'd have more strength of character than to fall for that shtick.

Yeah I am not seeing something around her neck either. It's her (fake photoshopped) boobs OR her head is photoshopped onto a 26 year old woman's body.

Yeah, I think that's at the heart of it @Allmyaarrgghandpeggymartin - she could have been a figurehead for growing older fearlessly and fiercely, instead she's trying to act and look younger than some of her own kids as if she can only remain relevant that way, rather than on her old terms as an older female pop star
