Madonna - went from candy to money

I don’t understand her recent Instagram post where she says she went from candy to money. Admittedly I’m not very “up” on modern parlance, which is why I’m asking - what does it actually mean?

It doesn't mean anything - it's not any sort of 'modern parlance'. It's just her trying to get attention - and it's worked!

She looks a bit like Katie Price. They must use the same filter.

Well, I’m glad I’m not the only one who doesn’t have a clue what she’s on about! I thought it was some sort of trendy urban reference, but it could of course just be total nonsense! 😂

I think its a reference to a TV show called Bob's Burgers.

So in one episode the Bob's family go trick and treating.
One of the adults points out to the children they have too much candy and they should sell some of it.
One of the smart arse children retorts that they would just end up buying more candy with the money! Then says
"Money is just candy that hasn't been born yet."

So, I think Madonna is making reference to this. What her bare boobs have got to do with it, I don't know! But that's Madonna for you.
Does she think showing her boobs is controversial?

Maybe it means something like she was sweet and innocent and then realised she could get money for showing her bosoms? Very eewww.

I remember Her years ago saying she never let her child watch tv etc as it was a bad influence. And here she is posting her bare breasts and other strange things. What a hypocrite.

I don't think the phrase means anything. I think its like Eric Cantona when he was waffling on about seagulls and trailers. Celebrities spouting nonsense, and there is nothing to understand.

Hmmm, possibly. I'm sorry but those are not the breasts of a 64 year old woman. I am NOT being ageist before anyone starts. Just stating a fact. They are either hugely photoshopped implants, or as you say, her head is photoshopped onto a much younger woman's body.

I'm in 2 minds about this.

On one hand I think she's knows exactly what's she's doing. She's still regularly in the papers at 64. She's always had shock value. How's many female rock/pop stars over 60 have you seen in the media recently?

But on the other hand I think "Yeah, she's lost her marbles!"
