Is this a fair arrangement?

Hi, looking for some advise please.

School car pooler A and B
B lives very slightly closer to school then A and expects A to drop DD at B’s every morning (35 mins round journey for A)
B then drops to school

A picks up from school and drops at B and back home.

A drops DD at B’s every morning. Pick up 4 days from School, drop at B then home.

B drop to school everyday ( from B’s ) and pick up from school and drop at A only on Friday

Is this a fair arrangement or Is A spending more time and money on journey?

Sounds like A is being a mug.

Because thos information is lacking from the OP I am going to guess some numbers

Let's assume that from A's house to school is a 90 minute round trip, and from B's house to school is an 80 minute round trip, in slightly different directions such that it's a 35 minute round trip between the two houses. We will also assume that both the drivers are either WFH or SAHP and return to their home after each trip.

With no car pooling, A would do 900 minutes of driving per week and B would do 800 minutes.

With the arrangement as it is, A does 535 minutes of driving and B does 503 minutes. So A has a reduction of 41% of their driving time and B has a reduction of 37% of their driving time. That's very slightly in A's favour but not a big enough difference to make a fuss about.

Obviously these numbers are only guesses and with different total journey times it might work out as a more significant difference in either direction.
