Who watches it? I watched it yesterday and was bored as fuck, wouldn’t watch it again. Aibu to think it’s rubbish?

Confession. I watched it on maternity leave. I’d never been off work and wanted to see what it was about and “get it”. I didn’t ever get it but it took about a month of me watching in a mildly confused manner. Rylan made it better for sure. And if Ruth was on, I love her.

Longleggedgiraffe · 29/10/2022 23:08

No, YABU, but it's only your opinion. FWIW, I don't give a toss who likes it and who doesn't. None of my business.

Sparklingbrook · 29/10/2022 23:19

And yet here you are…

lollipoprainbow · 30/10/2022 06:01

It's not the programme it's the presenters. Ruth and rylan need to be given the job permanently. Holly and Phil are diabolical.

DozyFox · 30/10/2022 06:05

Ohhh I have to say YABU because when my baby was tiny, me and DH used to sleep in shifts (triple feeding = hell).

Sitting around, awake, alone, watching Netflix at odd times of the morning started to make me feel really disconnected from life and the rest of the world, somehow. When the crappy daytime TV like This Morning came on, I somehow felt like I was part of the world again!

It always has a place in my heart for that reason, even though I've never watched it again since 🤣

Bramblejoos · 30/10/2022 06:10

Don't people just put it on for company. And don't actually watch it.

charabang · 30/10/2022 07:26

It's pretty inoffensive TV and it's magazine format will appeal to many. I watched it regularly as SAHM in the 80s when it first started and now I WFH one day a week and have it on in the background. Occasionally it throws up something of interest. There are also lots of peoole out there who use the tv for company and enjoy the familiarity of the show.

KimberleyClark · 30/10/2022 07:35

Only time I’ve ever watched it was while staying with my late PILs.

LynneBenfield · 30/10/2022 07:48

It’s not for me but it’s very easily avoided in terms of other channels or other activities, so I can’t say as I’m that bothered.

LakieLady · 30/10/2022 07:57

Irredeemable shite, and the other thing on BBC isn't much better imo, but mercifully it's only on for a short while.

I chop and change between BBC News, Sky News and Radio 4. I mostly work from home, and like it for background noise.

Throwawayaccount1 · 30/10/2022 08:17

I'm going to throw Any and Dec into the mix. I cannot stand them.

DearOohDear · 30/10/2022 10:31

I hear you @Throwawayaccount1 and raise you Andy Peters screeching, only dogs can hear him is so awful

Throwawayaccount1 · 30/10/2022 14:20

Sure thing. Add him to the mix.... Who else?

JustDanceAddict · 30/10/2022 14:34

Loose Women is worse

Ontobetterthings · 30/10/2022 14:41

It's terrible and can't stand smug Holly and Phil!

YANBU I've probably said this before but I think most of their viewing numbers come from dentist waiting rooms and work break rooms. No one seriously voluntarily watches this banal crap do they?

Care homes . Good point

YABU. It’s won a NTA every year for over a decade.

I love it, it’s really entertaining and I think Holly and Phil are fab.

To be fair, according to the NTA voters, Ant and Dec have been the best TV presenters for about 20 years too.

I saw a good chunk of This Morning last week while visiting someone in hospital. It's lightweight, fluffy, requires zero thought or critical thinking. Obviously caters to a market though as if they weren't getting the viewing figures it wouldn't be on air.
