Who watches it? I watched it yesterday and was bored as fuck, wouldn’t watch it again. Aibu to think it’s rubbish?

ProperSorryFrown · 29/10/2022 11:45

Patronising,repetitive and shallow.

And that's just Phil.

PanicAtTheBigTesco · 29/10/2022 12:17

I was wondering this too, off sick with covid so I thought I'd put it on yesterday, it was awful.

TheRossatron · 29/10/2022 12:19

I don't mind her as much but he does my fucking head in, so smug and self righteous. Also the still drunk in the morning thing? Annoying and unprofessional.

megletthesecond · 29/10/2022 12:20

Yanbu. Homes under the hammer is much better.

Georgeskitchen · 29/10/2022 12:20

Havent watched it since being sahm in the Richard and Judy days. Always entertaining when they had an argument🤣
If I do happen to have daytime TV on I would be watching Homes under the hammer, particularly when the utterly delectable Dion Dublin is presenting 😉😉

misteek · 29/10/2022 12:23

Richard and Judy were the best presenters.Alison is dire.

MadeInChorley · 29/10/2022 12:25

I’ve been baffled for years about the popularity of Holly and Phil. Don’t get it AT ALL. Thought it might be just me. Not that I’ve watched it since being stranded on the sofa, with the remote control just out of reach, while breastfeeding cranky DC3.

Richard and Judy created something different for morning TV, what, 30 years ago? It hasn’t been updated since they got rid of Fred the Weatherman’s floating map.

vodkaredbullgirl · 29/10/2022 12:27

I watch it, when I'm off work.

Florenz · 29/10/2022 12:30

I wish they'd put something intelligent on in the daytime instead.

dottiedodah · 29/10/2022 12:31

Loved it when Richard and Judy were on it ,the chemistry was great!Since been hit and miss Ruth and Eamonn OK and Fern ,but Holly and Phil just not great!

Yanbu. Homes under the hammer is much better.

I also had Covid recently so had the telly on as a distraction and tried This Morning a few times - I didn’t mind it tbh but couldn’t stick all the adverts and the competition woman every couple of minutes. Always ended up watching HUTH - fantastic TV and hilarious incidental music choices.Grin

WitchyOsmansXraySpectre · 29/10/2022 11:43

It’s awful. I always thought it was for the person with not much going on upstairs.

Holly and Phil need to be put at the back of a very very very long queue and left there until they die.

This ^^^

twocatsandtwokids · 29/10/2022 12:51

Yes! Have wondered this too. Very boring and makes me feel very restless!

Manekinek0 · 29/10/2022 12:52

It a TV version of a take a break magazine. Full of crap stories, terrible fashion and tips that are just common sense to most people.

bellac11 · 29/10/2022 12:54

Its a national public service, it ensures that people swinging the lead and bunking off work are so bored out of their brains that they're suddenly fit for work the following the day.

Sell also : Flog it, Bargain Hunt, Homes under the Hammer, Wanted Down Under

Prescottdanni123 · 29/10/2022 12:57

If you want a nin bias opinion, you have come to the wrong place. People on here think that holly and phil are the anti-christ.

Everyone blaming holly and phil for it being awful and boring are forgetting that it was dermot and Alison on yesterday, when OP was bored.

dudsville · 29/10/2022 12:58

Aren't most things like this? There's the small category of "things i like" and a huge category of "things i do not like". Presumably it will air until most people put it in the latter category, but I've not seen it personally, that might be a long way down the road.

Vitriolinsanity · 29/10/2022 13:02

Even DM, who enjoys Flog It will not watch it.

iliketartan · 29/10/2022 13:17

It's ok for dipping in and out of and I quite like the cookery bits but if I'm watching daytime tv I tend to flick between TM and the Jeremy Vine programme but even that's a no go if that vile Owen chap is on.

Bonjovispjs · 29/10/2022 13:38

@iliketartan Totally agree. Jeremy Vine is my go to morning show when I'm not working, at least they have some lively debates, but that Owen guy? Ugh, makes me want to punch the screen, can't stand him.

woodhill · 29/10/2022 13:40

Too many breaks

I used to watch it when Richard and Judy were on it and I was at home with dcs etc

MissyB1 · 29/10/2022 13:44

I’m another who hasn’t watched it since Richard and Judy left. They were great (especially whenever she told him off!) But they were both journalists and knew how to interview people.

Phil and Holly are just fluff - annoying fluff.

Fundays12 · 29/10/2022 13:49

I quite liked it when it was Richard and Judy but really don't like it now it's Holly and Phil. They are dull as is the show. I actually don't know anyone that watches it now.

Blueberrycreampie · 29/10/2022 14:00

I don't mind Alison but neither she nor Rylan (and some others) can't speak properly, eg bad grammar etc. I thought that to work in television you had to know how to pronounce things properly and not say things like 'we was'! These things really grate on me. OTH both Holly and Phil know how speak well but I can't stand either of them!

crochetmonkey74 · 29/10/2022 14:09

I'm one of the people who like it, and shock horror I am intelligent!
I find it cosy and nostalgic for some reason and they have some hilariously strange items sometimes.
I'm even guilty of recording it on days when I can't watch live. Am I about to get chucked off MN? 😀
