Police refusing to identify suspects gender

Sorry it’s a daily mail link but a friend sent this to me and I think it is absolutely ridiculous that we are living in a world where the police are to scared to identify a persons gender, after they are suspected of a crime. The person in the picture is clearly a man. Not really Aibu but I just feel stories like this need more attention. This person is suspected of exposing themselves to two teenage girls. Poor girls

It is ridiculous and the police full well know the sex of this person, they just don’t want to say it. This happed around 10 mins away from where I live and I have a primary-aged dd who walks home from school. I just want this person found as soon as possible and the best way for that to happen is if the police give an accurate, factual description of the assailant. How are they protecting woman? They seem more concerned about protecting the rights of a pervert who exposed himself to teenage girls. It’s disgusting

It’s disgusting that the police won’t release information which would halve the number if suspects. It’s like refusing to say the colour of the person, it massively reduces the number of suspects if you just give that tiny piece of information.

It's not their gender that people want to know, gender is a made up social construct that people chop and change. It's their sex.
I understand that the police might not want to make a call from photos and say that someone is a man when they are dressed like a woman - but the teenagers would certainly have been able to identify if they were male or female. So there is no reason not to say their sex was male as they would know that for sure. We really need to not confuse gender and sex, and be clear which sex someone is. Otherwise it's just all a fucking joke.

None of the news articles I’ve seen says this. Do you have a source? I’m not being deliberately annoying - but every article says genitals. Might have been a vulva.

Just had a quick look at the link and it's very obvious that if the police refuse to say then it's obviously a man. Sadly our establishment do everything they can to protect the feelings of the poor ickle men, but couldn't give a shit about women as the recent Maya and Alison, and the priests wife (I forget her name, sorry) high profile cases have shown.
You just know that if this had been a real women they'd be shouting it from the rooftops.

If it was a vulva they would just say woman and there would be no concerns about not identifying their sex. It's blatantly a man. And concerning that they are so preoccupied with not misgendering someone who showed their cock to a child.

Nipples are gentials, its embarrassing that you don't know that.
Do you think male nipples are sexual? If not, why? There are plenty of men with massive breasts/pecs, some should really be wearing bras because they are so big. The only different between male and female nipples is that womens were designed for feeding babies, so if they are sexual then surely men's are too, but you don't seem to have an issue with men wearing round topless
