Suella Bravermann

Suella Bravermann is back in the cabinet after being sacked for breaking the rules. Beside that she's been terrible in every job she has done in government.

Ffs. It's just more of the same. Is there really such little talent in the current Conservative party?

Yes she did something so bad she had to resign but it's OK now apparently.

PerkingFaintly · 25/10/2022 19:34

Yip.
Last week she was a security risk.

This week she's Home Secretary.

Go figure.

ScreamingInfidelities · 25/10/2022 19:36

I’m no fan of the tortes but… what she resigned for was pretty minor, at any other time a politician would apologise and ride that out. She resigned to put the boot into Truss, her resignation letter made that clear.

ScreamingInfidelities · 25/10/2022 19:37

*No fan of the tories, and apparently neither is my autocorrect 😆

Violashift · 25/10/2022 19:38

It's the Tofu's fault.

Quveas · 25/10/2022 19:39

They are all Tories. You expected something else?

It fermented on it.

Probably naive to think the ridiculous culture wars were over

I'm disappointed with the entire cabinet. I thought Rishi might use it as an opportunity for a fresh start but it's the same old, same old.

How they can talk about growth and then say that immigration is the work of the devil is beyond me. Do they not see the demographics?

Oh and where are the women? Other than Bravermann obvs...

custardbear · 25/10/2022 19:45

Someone being interviewed on the news just now said if was a deal she made with Rishi as he needed her - fucking shit

BackOnTheBandWagon · 25/10/2022 19:46

I wondered if Rishi might be taking a leaf out of Keir Starmer's book. Start with a cabinet across the breadth of the party, and as they gradually do stupid things and/or after a bit of time, have a reshuffle to get in people more aligned with your views. Starmer initially had a fair few Corbynites in his shadow cabinet, and they've gradually been reshuffled aside... seems to have worked for party unity on his side of the patch

Tabbouleh · 25/10/2022 19:48

She is a vile racist. As most Tory PoC are. More gloating about deporting refugees now.

Hmmph · 25/10/2022 19:49

Can't stand her, but wasn't that all a bit staged so she didn't have to resign because of Truss? 'Accidentally' do something just over the line, fess up and 'have to' resign immediately...

Iamthewombat · 25/10/2022 19:49

I assume that she is there to placate the loony right. If he has any sense, he’ll bin her ASAP.

Could thar be because there is a lack of talent now? Many more sensible and experienced people left.

Starmer had the luxury of being in opposition at that point. Everytine the government messes up it affects us

So much for integrity, looks like it's business as usual with the Tory party. Dominic Raab too and I heard a mention of Gavin Williamson. I just despair 🙄

From what I’ve heard the thing she did wasn’t minor. She purposely sent a draft policy document she knew would not be approved to her personal email address as it was going too far. She then sent that document outside of government to curry favour with outsiders to undermine Truss and try to use outside influence to lean on Truss. That is gross misconduct. Much more than ‘just’ sending something to your personal email.

It plays well to a certain base though and gives the DM plenty of headlines

Possibly.

She's my MP.

Her FB page has all her local fans stating they've now signed up to the Reform party!

They may come back now and have wet dreams over planes to Rwanda with her!

Yes she sent it to a backbencher who she apparently relies heavily on for advice. She also copied in his WIFE! Except it wasn’t his wife, she accidentally copied in another MP who reported it to the government.

Its a disgrace she’s back in government.

VampiresWife · 25/10/2022 20:10

Fresh start, my left tit (which, incidentally, could do a better job of running the country than this bunch of inept horrors).

Pretty minor?

Suella Braverman did not mistakenly leak a meaningless document. She endlessly consulted a maverick. She deliberately emailed a policy doc not yet agreed to her pvt email. Then she sent it to John Hayes and someone she thought was his wife. Then lied to PM about when it was sent

I'm just relieved Ben Wallace is still in place. We need continuity with Putin's ambitions.

Braverman I've never noticed before so assuming she's pretty mediocre all round.

I wouldn't say it's racist to get a handle on ink the Albanian crowd are a concern

bringincrazyback · 25/10/2022 20:12

It's a disgrace she's been allowed anywhere near the cabinet again.
