Snoozing

Swizzle007 · 18/10/2022 18:53

Even on my days off I set my alarm for 6am with the snooze on.
Sometimes I sleep until 9 or so, being woken up every 8 minutes then returning to sleep or snoozing. I like this!!

Does anyone else like to do this?

AIBU No you are bonkers
YANBU Yes me too

You’re bonkers obviously

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 18/10/2022 19:11

Well you do what works for you but apparently you're meant to wake properly when you wake up and that's bad for you

XenoBitch · 18/10/2022 19:13

I am addicted to the snooze button. When I worked, I would set my alarm too early so I could snooze several times. I get the best vivid and lucid dreams after pressing snooze.

PenCreed · 18/10/2022 19:13

I factor in denial time when I set my alarm, but not for that long!

MaMisled · 18/10/2022 19:13

I absolutely do this but set another alarm for 20 minutes time and I get those "oooh! I can go back to sleep! "realisations about 6 times on my days off!

MsBombastic555 · 18/10/2022 19:14

Wtaf?! You do this from 6am?! 😂 I'm glad you're happy though. Idk it's just making me laugh picturing it!

rainbowandglitter · 18/10/2022 19:15

It's really bad for you. Don't you wake up feeling rubbish? Your body doesn't get into a proper sleep each time so you end up feeling more groggy.

Nizanb · 18/10/2022 19:15

I absolutely hate going to sleep and then just waking up at the time I have to be up. It's horrible. You know what's lovely? Waking up at 3am and knowing you can just go back to sleep, it's bliss. I often set an alarm for an hour before I have to be up, and then set another one for the actual time.

Except you're not actually going back to sleep..... 🤔 If you set it for two hours later, now you're talking!

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 18/10/2022 19:39

Does anyone ever wake up in the night and realise they have hours left then fall back to sleep with a smile on their face? Grin

Sillystripytail · 18/10/2022 19:47

I used to love doing this when I worked. Now I'm a SAHM so no chance!💔love a snooze, it's like you're asleep but aware of it so it's nicer and I love the mad dreams too.

AlwaysFoldingWashing · 18/10/2022 20:19

This would Drive me nuts!

FineWordsForAPorcupine · 18/10/2022 20:24

You're lucky - one of the things I miss about getting older is those blissful, dozy mornings of waking up and going back to sleep. Now, once I'm awake, I'm awake. One of my favourite things (these days) is waking up naturally at 6am on a saturday, with a whole uninterrupted morning in front of me to Get Things Done.

(this might possibly because I am not chronically sleep deprived as I was in my youth Grin )

kimchifix · 18/10/2022 20:28

I have one go at snooze! alarm goes off at 6:15 and 6:23 is the the absolute latest I can get up. I don't need the snooze function at the weekends - I can wake up at 8 and if nothing to do have a lovely snooze without the alarm annoying me! 3 hours of it and I would be enraged to the point of smashing it, so you are deffo BU! 😂

Spookymcspookerson2022 · 18/10/2022 20:40

I think you're bonkers but saying that DH thinks I'm bonkers for sleeping for 9 hours (or more) every night.

Notagain12 · 18/10/2022 20:41

No.. how annoying!

Norugratsatall · 18/10/2022 20:43

Yep OP, I do this too! Love the feeling that I can snooze alarm for another hour or so.

mynameiscalypso · 18/10/2022 20:44

My DH does this. Drives me mad.

ofwarren · 18/10/2022 20:44

Do you have a partner? I'd be furious if DH alarm was going off every 8 minutes for 2 hours!

CoffeeLover90 · 18/10/2022 20:58

I kept turning it off instead of snoozing so...
And alexa alarm is going off in-between until 7 😂

I take it you are a light sleeper who cannot get back to sleep? I do the same thing and I co-sleep with my child atm, it doesn't even wake them up.

RiverSkater · 19/10/2022 01:05

I'm a snoozer with 2 alarms and the clock is 20 minutes fast.

I love snoozing. But I also agree it's not proper sleep. I only do it 40 mins max.
It's best Saturday morning. Then cup of tea. Possibly more snoozing.

I'm sure I was a cat in a former life.

RiverSkater · 19/10/2022 01:06

I don't do this on my days off though!
😱

PinkSkiesAtNight · 19/10/2022 01:12

The man I'm seeing does this! Has to leave for work at 6.40. His alarm goes off at 5.30 and then every 5 minutes until he gets up at 6.25. It drives me nuts when I'm there. I'm wide awake at the first alarm, although I'm getting a bit more used to it now and have to remember that at home I only have the one alarm and I have to get up straight away.

Honestly, I'd dump a man who did this. So inconsiderate.
