Disney Paris, how much?

Relocatiorelocation · 18/10/2022 11:30

I know IABU to ask here, but I've looked on the FB groups etc and it's clear as mud.

Family of 4, 2 adults 2 under 10s. I imagine we'd want 3 or 4 day there, staying in a Disney hotel maybe with a meal plan. I'm thinking about 3k over one of thr half terms, does this sound about right once travel and spending money is factored in?

Is 3 days / 2 nights ok? Or will a day longer be better? I don't know the joy vs stamina needed ratio!

Go on their website, put in your dates and it will tell you how much....simples

Relocatiorelocation · 18/10/2022 11:37

@Backtoreality1 thanks for that. It's suggested about 2k but I was unsure about the spending money etc, I imagine it's hugely expensive there. Was just after some real life examples.

Following as we want to go and it's looking like 3k just for the tickets and hotel so I'm wondering if anyone has any tricks to do it cheaper

Tootels · 18/10/2022 11:47

We went in 2014 £3,000 but we had two rooms.

Yupbutnobut · 18/10/2022 11:49

3 nights would be better. I'd add in the meal plans as the food is so expensive otherwise. Depends on the level of hotel you're after but around 3k for 3 nights without spending money I think is about what we paid including the meal plan.

Hi I’ve booked for my daughter and I to go in Feb half term for 4 nights - she’s 9

I’ve paid -
Flights £380
3 days park tix from attraction tix direct £440
explorers hotel £604
total - £1424

we’ve been before, and found 3 days in the parks just right - one day in each park and an additional day to mop up any bits you missed or want to redo. The parks are much smaller than the US ones, and right next to each other, so easy to flit between.

additional costs im anticipating
transfer from CDG to hotel £130 - this time in choosing a private transfer, but you can get a train straight from CDG to chessy station which is right by the park gates. I did this last time when it was just me and her and she was only 3. It was miles cheaper and straightforward to do so worth a look.

food inside the park - all the restaurants and cafes inside the park fit into 3 categories pricing categories. Download the Disneyland app and you can look at all the menus and prices and get a good idea of what you might spend.
for us it’ll be
breakfast - included in our hotel
lunch - around €7 each
dinner - around €15 each from a mid range place

the explorers hotel isn’t a Disney hotel, but everything is so close together there it doesn’t make much difference. There are free buses that shuttle around the hotels and park all day. Explorers is themed and looks very child friendly, but if you are set on a Disney hotel then expect to pay more than I’ve mentioned above.

hope that helps!

We stayed in sequoia lodge in August this year. We were half board and stayed 5 days. It cost us £2.5k for everything. We flew into CDG and got the Disney bus which stops at the terminal we got off at so it was very easy and didn’t cost much.

We didn’t need to buy anything whilst there which is why we went half board, but my daughter took spending money for gifts and toys. Food and drinks are very expensive but we took water bottles and there’s plenty of water fountains.

LGY1 · 18/10/2022 12:13

if you want to do it cheaper, stay in Serris.
We like Hi-Park Serris which is an apart-hotel. It’s walking distance to the parks & you also go in a quieter entrance than the ones from the on-site hotels.
There is a bakery for breakfast and lunch in Serris & also a large shopping centre with a supermarket and lots of restaurants.
little kitchen in your room to make pasta etc if you want. Also a fridge so you can take your own drinks in.

We used to be annual pass holders and go every month or so.

StarmanBobby · 18/10/2022 12:16

I’d self cater as food is shit and expensive-
breakfast at your accommodation, taking sarnies snacks and drinks in will save a fortune.

NCFT0922 · 18/10/2022 12:18

I would budget 5k. 2 nights / 3 days will be fine. Try and get a meal plan as it works out cheaper.

AppaTheSixLeggedFlyingBison · 18/10/2022 12:35

The one thing to remember is 2 nights isn't really 3 days. It's 1 full day and 2 half days. Travel can take lots of time so even if say your flight gets in at 10am, remember that after getting through the airport, getting there etc it will be more like 1/2pm

SuzieBishop · 18/10/2022 12:35

We're going soon and I was £2100 - that's flights from Edinburgh to CDG, breakfast and 3 nights 4 days in the park at the Cheyenne Hotel.

hilbil21 · 18/10/2022 12:37

@SuzieBishop did you book through someone or do it separately yourself. Thank you

FlibbertyGibbitt · 18/10/2022 12:41

Went in September. Two adults sharing at Santa Fe with meal plan so breakfast and evening meal. Included park tickets for 4 days so 3 nights . £650 ish each plus Eurostar was £100 to Paris . €5 to DLP

if you can , go to Florida . DLP has gone down hill in my opinion sadly . Expensive, rides closed, not much merchandise and some staff just awful .

luxxlisbon · 18/10/2022 12:41

Why are you looking on Facebook? Prices will depends on dates, you just need to go on the website and go through the process/ put in your dates/ room requirements and you will be able to see the price. No point knowing it cost someone £X I’m April 2016 if you’re going December 2022.

Through the Walt Disney Travel Company. We got to pay a small deposit and then pay it up by a certain date. I also rang them to add on the Princess lunch so thats in the price too.

brendabourbon · 18/10/2022 12:56

As PP says, if you pay for 3 days 2 nights for example, you'll not get there until later.

We booked room only through Booking .com at the Disney hotels for the first and last night, and had the 3D/2n bit in the middle, and they tied all the booking together once we got there.

Thehop · 18/10/2022 13:00

Was about £1000 a day for us. Davey Crockett and half board plan. Family of 5. We went last month for a long weekend term time.

ButterflyBiscuit · 18/10/2022 13:03

Meal plan really isn't cheaper unless you were planning on spending about 20£ per person for breakfast. For 80£ we could do breakfast far cheaper.

We're going soon and planning 2 expensive meals (downtown and 1 other) and on the 3rd day eating from a quick serve. Breakfast - planning Annette's one day but also probably just take croissants etc. Even a starbucks breakfast won't be £80.

hilbil21 · 18/10/2022 13:16

@SuzieBishop thank you

Jknow · 18/10/2022 13:19

I took dd1 in July. Booked it all separately, and very last minute so probably could have got it cheaper.

Flights were about £100 each. Uber from/to the airport was about £60 each way. Rented a two bedroom Airbnb which was lovely, in chessy. Lovely modern apartment 5 mins walk from the train station, huge mall including supermarket, bars and restaurants. 5 min train ride or 20 minute walk to the park, £450. Tickets were I think about £300 for both of us.

Definitely recommend self catering over Disney hotels (have done both). Being able to make sandwiches to take in saves a fortune, and easy to stick some pizzas in the oven or make some pasta if you want to save money that way. Or if not there’s ubereats available for takeaways, still a lot cheaper than Disney! I loaded up my rucksack with food and cold drinks before we went in, and saved a fortune.

All in, including spending money, the trip cost around £1500 for the three days.

Op I would never spend that much on Disney paris.

If you have 3k to blow on it I think the absolute best use of that money is to buy an annual pass.

But an annual pass and re visit because it is somewhere you need to know to get the best out of it. We had an annual pass and went 5 times.

It was by visit 3 we had everything down pat.

You can stay off site in partner hotels.

Disney is one of the worst sneaky money making machines, all pricing is there to confuse and befuddle you. Meal plan again I don't trust them!

Buy annual passes, go more than once, stay in partner hotels ( usually 100 times better and nice and still vv close with the free shuttle), you also get special entrance with pass and we skipped in through our own entrance whilst all hotel guests were stuck on long queues.
You can also experience it in different season's which is nice.

TheHouseonHauntedHill · 18/10/2022 13:46

( our hotel, hotels eyelsee) was right by the train and shuffle bus. We were also by a beautiful bakery's and the huge marne le valley shopping area so we had a choice of far nicer breakfast than hotel or Disney. We also had a decent sized fridge and we stored milk and hams, jams and butter in it for Lunch or snacks)

ButterflyBiscuit · 18/10/2022 18:20

I've come back to look at the meal plan as I couldn't see it would save us money.

So day 1 agrabah - (38E x 3 adults, 22E x 1 child = 126E/£110)
Day 2 Downtown (42E x 3 adults, 30 E x 1 child = 156E/£136)
Day 3 likely Annette's diner 20E x4 = 80E/£70)

Yet meal plan if we got it (Cheyenne so not allowed the cheapest - £52 x 3/£35 x 1 = £190 a day!!! )

If we DIY the above that leaves us £80 for breakfast + day 1, £44 day 2 and £110 day 3.

DIY will be much better!
