Camembert?

We're having a picky tea. Freezer bits and a baked Camembert with crusty bread.

Dh is digging in but I'm sat here thinking I could probs scoff the whole thing

Could you? What's your greedy pig go to?

Mr Kipling battenberg, either in 4 slices or if I’m feeling a little more civilised, 6-7 slices, one after the other of course. It’s always too much, but once one has been opened. . .

cowandchickensmum · 15/10/2022 20:19

I'm watching in envy! All these posters being able to eat stuff! Not sure if a small percentage is binge eating in a negative destruction way. And if so I hope you will navigate your way. But I'm trying to think of something I last could eat like that! Enjoy your treats everyone. I have a favourite dish if that counts???

Just eating a whole bar of Mrs Tilly”s tablet.
This is why I live in England, if I had unrestricted access to MrsTilly’s Tablet, Fisher and Donaldson fudge donuts and white puddings, I would be dead!

Fisher and Donalson's fudge donuts and coffee towers are so good! I'm glad that I live 70 miles away from the nearest shop.

Jaffa cakes. You're meant to eat the whole pack in one go, right?

It's the law.

elm26 · 15/10/2022 21:11

Jammie Dodgers to the point I won't buy them anymore because I eat the whole pack within 2 minutes, if anyone brings in biscuits to work and those are in there I know I'm buggered 😂

But YES yes yes yes to a whole Camembert especially with a fresh French stick and butter 😍😍😍

Teaandcrumpets95 · 15/10/2022 21:26

Camembert 🤪

Magic stars- cannot reseal the bag. Ever. Love them

Toast. I’m not really great at eating if I’m the only adult in the house for tea time and oh works shifts so six or seven days out of ten it’s just me and the kids

As a lone parent this makes me laugh! "I can’t possibly manage to make a meal without my husband to help"

cowandchickensmum · 15/10/2022 21:33

That's not nice. Not all people have the energy or mental load to cook a full meal. Or want to eat one.

BackOnTheBandWagon · 15/10/2022 21:45

That's not the point @MightyOaks. I do the cooking in our house, but if it's just me I often can't be arsed and just have something on toast. Or chocolate.

Oh it’s not that. Fuck letting him cook, we’d all be poisoned. This is the man who melted cheese through the toaster coz he tried to roast it on its side. I just can’t be arsed making something nice for just myself so I ram toast in the toaster and I might boil an egg or stick a bit bacon or square on but normally I just slice a banana. If he was here or if my pals come over then I’ll make the effort but cooking and doing dishes for one person just doesnt do it for me and I don’t really like fish fingers or ravioli or macaroni or pizza or chicken goujons etc that the kids like.

Aye that. I made us a steak pie yesterday so I had a casserole dish, a pie dish, flour everywhere from rolling puff pastry, peeled tatties, then the roasting tin from them, two chopping boards then the plates and cutlery and the gravy dish all in the sink to wash. Sod going through all that for just me. I don’t have room for a dishwasher so it’s all me.

PipinwasAuntieMabelsdog · 15/10/2022 22:02

When PG with DD, now 5yo, I ate a whole jar of green olive tapenade on ryvita in once sitting. I have never been able to even open a jar since she was born. With DS, pans and pans of buttery mash whilst establishing BF

PipinwasAuntieMabelsdog · 15/10/2022 22:03

@Teaandcrumpets95 what do they put in MW stars? I am the same, but not keen on other Mars choc.

paintitallover · 15/10/2022 23:01

Nuts, almost any. Although hazelnut not so much.

mamabear715 · 15/10/2022 23:14

Ah, yes, nuts! Monster bags of brazils & walnuts.. a handful from one bag, then a handful from the other.. they are good for you so can't possibly contain calories..

been and done it. · 15/10/2022 23:27

Tunnocks caramel wafers
Snowballs
Steak and kidney pudding and runner beans

Terry's chocolate orange, circa a decade ago before they palm oiled it to shit.
Actually that's a massive fib cos I'll still eat a whole one now, just not with as much joy.

Is that what happened?

I've spent years meditating sadly on how nothing feels the same as when you are a child, and how maturity is the process of life losing its savour, and actually they just made it rubbish?

I feel better now. Might eat a whole camembert to celebrate.

Thursa · 16/10/2022 00:07

Ritz crackers, topped with Philadelphia cream cheese and a slice of cherry tomato. Heavenly!

AriettyHomily · 16/10/2022 00:13

Oh I could do the Camembert, but the fucking indigestion would put me off.

As a fellow 'lone parent,' that's not what she said. Don't be bitter, it won't make you any happier.

RealBecca · 16/10/2022 02:01

Carvery. I can easily finish one of those piled up plates and want seconds. If I was allowed up for another round or could take 2 plates I'd be unstoppable.

RealBecca · 16/10/2022 02:03

And pizza. Would (and could) happily eat 3 family sized pies or an entire takeaway large. I dont. But I would love to.

anonbelle · 16/10/2022 02:08

Crisps & dips. Convinced I could never stop gobbling them up
