To not get the Karen’s Diner concept?

So I get that the staff are suppose to be rude and tell you to fuck off to then make you a “Karen”.

But I don’t get why you’d want to be verbally abused and apparently the food isn’t great either - this apparently means I have no sense of humour.

Sounds more like an expensive crap improv adult comedy club rather than a diner if you take it in that context then it's probably not that bad. Certainly wouldn't want to go though. I'm too old and life's too short to waste it on shit.

As for Karen's, what absolute shite.

Seen clips of it. Its dire. Think it's for people who like things like Mrs Brown's Boys and Bernard manning type humour

I’m not sure, I can’t remember the thread - it was something about a teen who wanted their mum to take them I think. But it was very much not a special fancy chippy. It was like the chippy you see on the council estates I’ve lived on. Just an average random chippy 😂 it did give me a giggle at what teens will do, although apparently adults do it too!

Oh I’m sure it was a chippy. At least I think so! I remember because I recall squinting at it and thinking ‘I could point you to a hundred chippies just like that where I live.’ Is there also a famous pie and mash shop?

Yes that’s the place! To be clear, I wasn’t saying it was a bad chippy. Just that it doesn’t seem a special chippy, one you’d travel to have your picture taken outside. It’s just a normal chip shop!

I don't like the concept but I'd be more concerned about their staff applying for future jobs. I wouldn't employ anyone who had that as their own previous place of work.

I remember that thread @Hoppinggreen there were a fair few on that thread telling the OP to go because of course we should all go and do something on our birthdays that we know we will hate because someone else wants to, it's their type of thing and they will enjoy it, after all women's birthdays are all about pleasing other people not themselves. There were also the usual comments telling OP she lacked a sense of humour, was uncool and just didn't understand the concept.

If it’s a Karen themed diner then shouldn’t it be the guests being rude to the staff, not the other way round?

I find it kinda depressing, the world needs more niceness not more mocking of women / promoting misogynistic stereotypes.

If they love rudeness, is tempting to book out a load of their tables and not turn up. But that would be too rude.
