Just watched Liz Truss and she didn't answer 1 bloody question properly she kept repeating the same sentences .

OP posts:
the80sweregreat · 14/10/2022 15:54

Nicola Sturgeon isn't holding back now.

Nicola Sturgeon isn't holding back now.

Not is she! Wow someone needed to say it

the80sweregreat · 14/10/2022 15:58

I have a feeling that things are afoot !
That presser was car crash material
She seems out of her depth now and drowning fast.

Threadkillacilla · 14/10/2022 16:02

Rishi and co must be watching in wonder.

I get they want growth, but who has been in charge since 2010 ?
..

"They" don't necessarily want growth. Liz Truss and, allegedly, Kwasi Kwarteng want growth. As does Jeremy Hunt now, apparently.

She just keeps banging on about how she's helping with energy bills. Small comfort with what has happened to bloody mortgages.

Yeah, well...she lied about that too if you live in the old "Manweb" area. It's going to be higher than £2500!

NeelyOHara1 · 14/10/2022 20:35

I think our media let them get away with it and it seems like it's intentional. Perhaps because they all seem to come from the same backgrounds and move in the same circles?

She's totally incompetent

puddingandsun · 14/10/2022 20:43

I felt sorry for her. Thought she is trying to hold tears back.

She only celebrated getting the country's top job a month ago and now she must feel like the most hated person.

Mischance · 14/10/2022 20:47

Did you think she would? Do you ever expect that a politician will?

the80sweregreat · 14/10/2022 20:51

I'm an empath for people that really deserve it
LT just doesn't.
She brought a lot of this on herself by wanting to make a Mark and it's backfired

NashvilleQueen · 14/10/2022 20:52

She's spectacularly shit.

the80sweregreat · 14/10/2022 20:54

I don't hate her at all.
I just think she could have handled it all much better than she has.

NashvilleQueen · 14/10/2022 20:54

I don't get the sympathy for her. This was her actual fucking ticket to get the job. If it's enough of a shit show to sack KK then she can't stay on.

The only difference between them is that she's the PM and so gets to make the decisions.

conkercollector · 14/10/2022 20:56

I don't understand her message about growth. She keeps banging on about how she grew up in a place which didn't see the benefits of growth (although by all accounts she grew up in a pretty affluent part of Leeds). However, this was under the Thatcher government whose economics she seems to be trying to emulate. And even if by some miracle her bizarre policies do create growth, from all her actions so far the benefits of this would be skewed entirely towards the already wealthy. Most people probably wouldn't see much improvement to their lives.

jaundicedoutlook · 14/10/2022 20:57

Unbelievably bad. She looked like the victim in a hostage / ransom video.

Utterly deserves what’s coming to her though. After trotting round all summer telling a bunch of delusional party members what she thought they wanted to hear in order to get elected, I’d be surprised now if she made it through to hallowe’en.

Nobody puts themselves forward for PM unless they have extremely thick skin.

DesMoulinsRouge · 14/10/2022 20:57

@puddingandsun I don't feel sorry for her, her views on the British people are vile. She was coauthor of a book that spelled out exactly what she thinks.

nonstoprenovation · 14/10/2022 21:00

Her u-turn on corporation tax rises is the nail in the coffin.

What a weak stupid move.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 14/10/2022 21:04

I have no sympathy for her whatsoever. She's thrown her mate, who was acting in complete consultation with her carrying out their joint plan, under a bus in a desperate attempt to serve her own skin. I give her until next Friday before we see a tearful resignation.

ilovesooty · 14/10/2022 21:04

Since she's now shedding the policies on which the membership elected her, her position is untenable. No sympathy whatsoever for her.

MarmiteyCrumpets · 14/10/2022 21:05

That was a painfully cringeworthy performance.

VladmirsPoutine · 14/10/2022 21:06

She's just as bad as her predecessors in every regard the difference with her though is that she struggles to disguise just how out of her depth she is - BJ would always waffle and do his grandiose clown act - Lizz Truss has absolutely nothing but a constant look of sheer terror.

ilovesooty · 14/10/2022 21:09

In fact I'll go further than that. In throwing Kwarteng under the bus to save her own skin, when he's been totally loyal to her (whatever I think of his polices and beliefs), she's shown a total lack of personal and professional integrity. Not only do I have no sympathy for her, I hope she's actively suffering.

Endlesssummer2022 · 14/10/2022 21:12

I’ve now become allergic to the word ‘deliver’.

She must go, Kwarteng was carrying out her policies. Sacking him changes nothing.
