To ask about oodies?

Both kids want an oodie for Christmas but honestly I'm not sure I can justify the cost- are they really worth it? Can anyone recommend a cheaper brand?

I have a primark one - lovely and warm, even without my cat climbing inside.
I don't think I'd want a thicker one - I took it to my sisters when I stayed over Christmas, but it was too warm to wear it,

Would you consider second hand? Vinted?

I tried to buy an oodie for ds2 and dd birthdays in the 2 for 1 offer. I was planning to get one each for the rest of us at Christmas. They promised me a voucher code as a new customer and sent me a code, but when I went to use it, the website said I could only use 1 code, either the 2 for 1 offer or the new customer code.

That put me off as I felt it was not a genuine offer as a new customer and bought non branded ones instead.
I will also shop elsewhere for the rest of us.

We all have them so snuggly and warm and bonus of no heating on yet. Ours are from bandm. Adults were £18 and sure kids were like £12.

If you can, I’d order them now.

I ordered mine in July and got in within about five days (longer as I’m in NI).

Just judging on the number of threads about them on MN alone, I’d say A LOT of people have similar ideas about getting them as Christmas presents, so ordered soon would avoid potential delays around Black Friday and early December.

Can anyone advise the best brand for a 12 year old? My DS has a fake Oodie from Amazon which is fine but I think he'd love the real thing and I should buy now while there is a sale on. On the Oodie website the kids size is age 3-13 so I think this will be too small. The adult size is MASSIVE as I have one and think it would drown him. The Kuddly website doesn't seem to stock kids sizes. Thanks

We got them last year two for £55. You can buy them as pairs but choose different colours. 100% worth it. Extremely warm but don't sweat . Been washed loads and still look new

I don't have a primark near me unfortunately but will have a look at cuddly! Might just bite the bullet and get genuine oodies.

How big are the children's ones? My 9yo is nearly as tall me (I'm 5'5 and would say he's easily 5"-5'1) is it worth getting him a child's one or should I get the adult one?

100% get the adult one, my 9 year old DD has the child one but much prefers MY adult one 🙄

I have a real Oodie and it's far far better than any other I aslo have the bamboo nightshirt which is lovely too. They are re branding the logo, on Facebook you can get two for £80, that's the best I've seen. I've purchased as gifts. The customer service is very good too.

I got a primark one last year and while probably not as warm as an oodie it does the job. I just don't have the money for an oodie. It's a Disney Christmas one but I wore it all year.

if you are getting actual Oodie get an adult size for him or he will grow out if it and you won’t get value for money. They last forever so just go straight for adult size. He’s already taller than myself and my adult DD 😁, and we have the adult size, keeps our legs nice and warm 😝.

It's the arms that put me off they always look far too long to be practical. Even though I've got stupidly long simian arms. Can you, say, make a cup of tea wearing one or are they just too cumbersome?

Honestly, they are an incredible item. I got one as a gift last year and I could not believe how warm they are. Saved so much on our heating bill - no lie. We just bought a bulk family pack for my grandparents and parents for the winter.

I have a real Oodie and this from the online home shop:

www.onlinehomeshop.com/sienna-extra-long-sherpa-hoodie-blanket-blush-pink

I prefer the none Oodie version. Just as thick and the extra length makes all the difference.

We all have the primark versions - they’re lovely and thick and plush and seem to be doing the job very nicely for us all. Plus 4 at 20 quid each isn’t very cheap but definitely cheaper than the real thing!

@DashboardConfessional I ordered on Monday after reading the thread at 4 for £109. I emailed the support with the VIPHB code asking should I reorder and send the first ones back or if they would refund me the difference and they have refunded me £19.
