I can't believe Liz Truss is 47..

Following on from a thread yesterday, I guessed Liz was 56. I was shocked to hear she's a decade younger. I guess I am being unreasonable. It was probably the photo of her having a meeting wearing comfy trainers that did it. How old would you have guessed she was?

I'm not sure this is about looks... I've never thought before, but I'd have perhaps guessed 55-60. I'd have perhaps guessed she looks pretty good for her age, but that her manner makes her look much older.

That's beyond 'I thought she was older' type comments. Shocking really!

Though pale skin is less likely to age prematurely as presumably hasn't suffered sun damage.

I am a few years older than Liz Truss. I thought she was late 40s. She’s doesn’t seem mature enough in looks or mannerisms to be early or mid 50s imo.

Imagine starting a thread like this about Rupa Huq? Would you? Would MN allow it? ( they don’t support free speech at all, plenty of nasty misogynistic posts are deleted when they’re targeting certain people ) Rupa is a similar age. It’s not just that this is a woman, she’s a conservative woman and they’re the worst kind. Right?

I knew she was in her 40s. I'm 42 and still feel like I'm a clueless teenager who's winging it through life. I can't fathom the idea that someone only 5 years older than me has their shit together enough to run the country.

Although, her policies so far would lead me to believe that she's also a clueless teenager winging it as well.

Unfortunately for 7s she doesn't have 'her shit together' to run the country.

I wish female politicians would wear drab trouser suits, sensible shoes and little or no make up/jewellery when at work.

I feel that dresses, make up and necklace/earring sets ect., invite inspection and critique. And i think also, sadly, bolsters the attitude from men that women aren't quite their equals.

Women News presenters seem to get it right I think : Rita , Naga , Emily Maitless , Sophy Ridge , Kay Burley tend to wear jackets or just a nice top and not too over the top with the accessories / make up.
I like some of LTs dresses , but they would look awful on me as she is slim

I have not seen criticism of Rupa Huq's looks on here but there is plenty on Twitter. (don't know why, like Liz Truss, she looks absolutely fine and appropriate for her age and role).

As with Liz Truss, it should not be relevant.

Judgement of their person, character, policies, choices should be absolutely fine.

i.e. Saying Boris looked old for his age - not helpful. Saying Boris showed disrespect not brushing his hair on remembrance day - judging his character.
