To have shouted her back

Went to the supermarket with DSD earlier, both of us needed the toilet so we went to the ones available to customers. There are two cubicles and both were in use so we waited. As the previous occupant (early 40s maybe) came out I went in and there was wee all over the seat, I instinctively asked her if she could go back in and wipe it (wouldn’t have had the guts with time to think). DSD12 was mortified and said it was humiliating for the woman and that DSD wanted the ground to swallow her up. In hindsight, I’m glad she cleaned her own wee rather than me having to clean it or sit in it. DSD is never going out of the house with me again apparently.

WIBU?

So your DP and DSD do it at home? Let's hope someone pulls them both up publicly then?

What's wrong with them?

😂 😂

This thread explains so much about the state of public (and not so public but in business) toilets

Noteverybodylives · 06/10/2022 20:10

I don’t think there’s anything to be proud of by embarrassing a women who obviously has a disability.

And if your teen felt her embarrassment then I wonder how rudely you said it.

However, it would not be unreasonable to have a quiet word and ask her to wipe down the seat because it’s not fair you have to use it.

Billyhargrovesmullet · 06/10/2022 20:10

Good on you it’s absolutely disgusting when people don’t clean after themselves, I’m usually vocal about it but more passive aggressive and saying ‘ew how disgusting someone’s left the toilet like this’

homarrrerr · 06/10/2022 20:11

Oh that's horrible.

Poor woman 😢

How did she obviously have a disability?

Plenty of people wee on the seat by accident, are they all disabled? Plenty of people also wee on the seat and wipe it too.

I've done the same. Yes, she was embarrassed but she should have cleared her own piss up in the first place.

Nellynoo182 · 06/10/2022 20:14

Oh how mortifying for your daughter and the lady!

And how do you know it obviously piss? How do you know it wasn't water splashed up from the toilet bowl? Is that really worth publicly embarrassing someone over?

AsAnyFuleKno · 06/10/2022 20:15

I8toys · 06/10/2022 20:05

Unnecessary. You don't know it was her pee.

This.

happy66 · 06/10/2022 20:16

Omg that the most cringe thing I have heard in a long time.

EmeraldShamrock1 · 06/10/2022 20:18

Aye, you did really say that. 🤔

1982mommaof4 · 06/10/2022 20:20

Some people on here who don't give a second thought about publicly humiliating people are just awful

TwoWrightFeet · 06/10/2022 20:25

Good for you. She won’t be pissing on the seat anytime soon.

Noteverybodylives · 06/10/2022 20:28

You said there was wee all over the seat.

Unless you are disabled or have some sort of issue with your body, then that is practically impossible.

Fennellathewitch · 06/10/2022 20:29

Yes you were AIBU, jeeze just give the seat a wipe with bog roll. It might have been a toilet with a decent flush, rare these days or previous occupant or any number of things. I'm impressed you can identify a liquid as being urine by sight, wipe seat, sit down pee job done.

Purplebunnie · 06/10/2022 20:31

Similar situation when on holiday many years ago. Public toilet cubicle looked like a shower had taken place. I cleaned as much as possible and hovered as the back of the seat still wet. Felt I'd done my bit.

You should have seen the look the mother waiting with her toddler gave me. when she went to go in

I didn't make the mess and to this day I regret not telling her that it had been 10 times worse before I went in. She must have thought I was really scummy but it wasn't me

LightDrizzle · 06/10/2022 20:36

If you hover, you put the seat up first, otherwise you are likely to get piss on the seat. Women don’t have a handy directable nozzle like men, and even men put the seat up. Depending on how your labia happen to be settled and the angle you squat it can go at unpredictable angle which changes as the force of flow tails off. Many small children, people with disabilities or elderly people losing muscle tone can’t hover so have to deal with your piss.

SmallPrawnEnergy · 06/10/2022 20:37

Urgh, it’s clear to see why a lot of public loos are so rank.

Clean up after yourself. Check the toilet and have some respect for the other people using those facilities and cleaning those facilities too! After flushing too! People are just so selfish lately.

Oh and the women who hover are usually the ones pissing all over the seat. Sitting down you can’t wee on the seat unless you haven’t wiped properly and drip.

Dresd to think what your home toilets are like 👃🤢 🤮

pompomdaisy · 06/10/2022 20:41

I never ever sit on public toilet seats so would never clean one either. If you had said that to me I would have laid into you.

LightDrizzle · 06/10/2022 20:42

TMI ⚠️
I have IBS and often have to go urgently in public loos and it sticks to the bowl 🤢
Rank though manky public bog loo brushes are to handle, I clear up after myself as it’s much ranker to leave it for the next user to encounter and clean up.

Shiningstarr · 06/10/2022 20:43

I would have done the same. Dirty cow. How could she not check the seat before she left?

Imagine if she had left skid marks from doing a poo!! Imagine shouting 'excuse me love, can you just come and use the loo brush on the skid marks you've left behind?' 😂

You'd do the same? How would you know if the skid marks were from that person or the previous person? The excitement people get from the idea of publicly humilating/degrading someone is truly bizarre behaviour.

londonrach · 06/10/2022 20:50

You sound vvv rude.
