My little offering is..

Children might not listen to all you say, but they are watching everything you do.

Don’t make decisions when you’re angry and don’t make promises when you’re happy.

Don’t marry someone you wouldn’t have as a business partner- the desirable qualities are the same.

I heard this from a different perspective from a family friend who runs a successful business. He said he would never go into business with someone who cheats on his wife and children no matter how good they are in business because someone who can be so deceitful to their own family can do the same in business.

Something my old director in the heath service said was sometimes you have to agitate and throw the plates up in the air to get some momentum going. He was right.

When it comes to work think ‘what would a man do in this situation.
brilliant for all women. Would a man make the tea? Run that errand? Ask for that pay rise? Tell everyone about the great thing they just did? Speak up about something/someone?

it’s really encouraged me to be bolder, speak up more and asked for what I want. Because I know the boy/man would.

I give that advise to all younger women I mentor.

This is a good one.

Hopefully he didn't work in the canteen! 😂

Sometimes Good enough is good enough.

Someone told a very stressed me this as a trainee teacher. You can’t make every lesson perfect when you teach a full, timetable. It really doesn’t matter if one lesson is “teach somethings, show a worked example, then do questions from board or textbook.”

rocketfromthecrypt · 08/10/2022 06:35

Shut up and deal with it.

Don’t just marry for love.

Focus on what's on the shovel, not in the pile.

If you drop a bag of oranges on a hill, never panic, just walk to the bottom of the hill and they will have all rolled to the bottom. ( I think that is to try and stay calm and not panic in situations 😂 )

Don't worry about other children's progress . They are all the same when they start school. This helped when bragging mums at playgroup went on about how advanced their child was .

Remember there are 3 types of people in this life:

those who put you in bad times
those who leave you in bad times
those who are there for you in bad times

Every time you're feeling overwhelmed with jobs, be it at work, or at home, remember it's just a task list. Write them down and tick them off one by one.

Before getting involved in other people's business ask yourself, does it directly impact you, if not, then seriously consider not getting involved.

Never forget, there are billions of people less well off than you in the world. Are your issues that big in the scheme of things?
