We were paying £960pm, that's gone down to £800 from this month.
Just wondering what people pay?

OP posts:
LesOliviers · 01/10/2022 23:05

£538

twotoedsloth · 01/10/2022 23:05

~£1300 (recently fixed for 2 years), but we overpay an extra £700 per month. Would like to upsize and move but can't find anything we like.

NisekoWhistler · 01/10/2022 23:06

Just shy of £7000

shivawn · 01/10/2022 23:06

€515

£750. Paid £2k ERC to fix for 10 years in March. I had a feeling in my waters.

@DashboardConfessional

Well done!! What rate were you able to fix at?

unfortunately I faffed for too long over 2/5/10 years. (Family issues may end up having to go overseas and the ERP on 10 years was huge!).

I fixed for 5 @ 2.48 a few months ago. Glad I did, but wish the family issue had been resolved so I could have fixed for 10.

Currently, a single UK income of £125k gives you a take home of £6250 after tax and NI (not taking into account pension payments which would subject to tax relief).

Thank you, but I am aware.
Our household earns substantially more. Bu the point is if you are not in the UK, what is the point trying to draw a comparison.

I do love these threads and how much is your gas bill as I always win (the highest does win?)

£4003 on a 5 year 1.51 fix taken out in March

NisekoWhistler · 01/10/2022 23:15

Thank his we fixes earlier in the year for ten years

Tiredmum100 · 01/10/2022 23:15

£700 ish, but over pay every month so £1000.

CafeCremeMerci · 01/10/2022 23:15

£495. 53, single, small house. I was looking to move as the house is too small & no parking/garden, but I'd have to port & get another mortgage deal for the additional cost of the new house & with interest rates going up I'm not sure I want to. Instability in my sector as well, makes it a tad risky, especially at my age & on my own.

JudgeRindersMinder · 01/10/2022 23:16

£1000 from a monthly income of about £4500, 18 months into a 5 year fix

MarieKlepto · 01/10/2022 23:16

We went hell for leather and overpaid every penny, so we don't have a mortgage now. Thing is, OP hasn't said where she lives. A poster saying £2k/pcm may be living in a really similar property to £600/pcm, just in a differnet part of the country.

ZealAndArdour · 01/10/2022 23:19

£612, fixed till 2026.

Zizou04 · 01/10/2022 23:20

£440 per month. 3 bed house

PickAChew · 01/10/2022 23:21

£517, halfway through a 10 year fix.

More that the UK isn’t necessarily a “higher tax country” when you look at other things like tax relief on pensions (might have experience of being expat in Scandinavia).

But I get the point that comparing overseas incomes and outgoings isn’t comparable to the UK.

Rentaroom33 · 01/10/2022 23:24

@CherryPieface no we have no mortgage

Bryonny84 · 01/10/2022 23:24

I struggled most of my life to pay a mortgage but I've now paid it off and own a modest home. Hugs to everyone trying to just get by and get your own home. It's not easy but I would say sacrifice a lot to make sure you get there in the end. I had 3 jobs, almost gave up but you can all do it. xxxx

RelativePitch · 01/10/2022 23:29

£810 fixed until January 2025.

3littleloves · 01/10/2022 23:31

£912 for property just purchased...huge increase from the £163 we had been paying for a much smaller home. Fixed until 2027 where it is projected to rise to £1105 unless the interest rates start to drop

Judijudi · 01/10/2022 23:33

£0 after mortgage being paid off beginning of year. Such a wonderful feeling!
