AIBU to not have the 4th covid jab ?

I've had all my covid vaccines up to date. I also had covid a few months ago.. I think I can get the next vaccine too if I want it. I was a bit surprised to be invited again..

Covid was just like a cold for me.

I'm 35, have MS ( not on any medication and I don't really have any symptoms apart from fatigue ). So no disability from it, no trouble walking or anything in my body- except fatigue.

I don't really want to have another vaccine. Is that unreasonable ?

Still feeling grim after Thursday’s Moderna vacc. I had little problem with previous (all Pfizer). I am tired, achy and have just been violently sick after my first meal for 3 days (cottage pie). I will still have any vaccines offered . I am 78 and dh is 86 we are grateful to have vaccines freely available. Flu jabs week beginning 10/10.

Jadebanditchillipepper · 02/10/2022 22:36

The vaccine doesn't necessarily prevent you getting COVID in the first place, but it does reduce the severity (massively). It is the vaccine that has got us out of lockdown and out of the situation of having 1000+ people dying every day. If the uptake of the vaccine reduces, we could end up in that situation again. For that reason, I would urge everyone who is offered it to have it (and have your flu vaccines too - big flu epidemic predicted this winter).

I believe it is the Moderna bivalent vaccine (protects against Omicron too) that is being given to everyone

Redhop · 02/10/2022 22:50

I can't believe people are still having these vaccines. Unbelievable

Seriously? You can't believe there are vulnerable people having vaccines that could save their lives? Do you think the same about people having flu vaccinations?

Your brain must be exploding at the 56 billion doses worldwide. And 46 million people fully vaccinated in the UK.

That's such a lot for you to have to not believe!!! You must be exhausted.

Ummm…no it didn’t. There’s no possible mechanism for that. You had shingles after it. No causality.

I know several people who got shingles after vax.

stayingaliveisawayoflife · 03/10/2022 05:42

It's not just the Moderna vaccine. I was given the Pfizer. Am feeling very rough today so might not be able to work.

MeanderingGently · 03/10/2022 06:39

I'm having my fourth this week. I felt really rotten after all my other three vaccinations, the Moderna one was the worse reaction, but I'm still going.

I had COVID right at the start of the pandemic, before anyone had any vaccines. It was awful, I was in bed for 3 weeks and I'm sure it has had long-term effects on my general tiredness. I wouldn't go through that again.....the vaccinations saved thousands of lives and I'm very grateful we live in a country where these are available free.

Look up jab_injuries on Instagram.“

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

“Not really a laughing matter”

that anyone would rely on instagram for health information is very, very much a laughing matter.

.
I know several who got parking tickets.

Sooverthisnow · 03/10/2022 13:47

It’s possible that the shingles/chicken pox virus which lies dormant in nerve cells is reactivated by stress on your immune system from the vaccine. So it’s not the vaccine causing it per se but the fact you are having a stressor.

I've got MS and I'm having my 4th.
I do suffer quite badly with it, on lots of meds etc and when I had Covid I got very sick.
But you do whatever is right for you, YANBU

hope you don't get many side effects - very sensible decision.

LuckyLil · 05/10/2022 21:56

I had the flu jab last Wednesday then the COVID jab the following day. I'm only 50 and at risk, one day feeling a bit rough is preferable to several weeks or months on a ventilator. I don't care if anyone else gets the vaccine or not. Entirely up to the individual but I just did what was right for me because if I do get it I know I won't just get the sniffles.

Blaise19 · 06/10/2022 12:38

Just a follow-up in case anyone is interested.

Saw my (NHS) GP today, who said that she is seeing many cases of people negatively affected by the vaccine. She has had three Covid vaccinations but will not be having the fourth, despite not having had issues herself. Quite properly she said that she could not advise me whether or not to have the fourth shot - that is a decision for me.

Regarding my many and varied symptoms, she agrees that they look autoimmune-y and so I'm going to have some specific blood tests to examine this further.

You sound like you have one of the good ones as a GP. I'm glad your symptoms are being taken seriously and investigated.
Best of luck with the decision over the 4th

PuzzledObserver · 06/10/2022 18:07

I had my booster (Moderna) last Friday. Injection site tender when touched, but not otherwise. Soreness took about 5 days to fade. No other side effects - better than the first 3 (Pfizer), when I was headachey and a bit “off” the remainder of the day when I had the jab.

I wouldn’t hesitate to have one next year if it’s offered.

ThatWasThat · 06/10/2022 22:24

after the 4th I had side effects or a coincidental infection, I can’t decide. Either way I felt unwell and found it hard to do my usual working hours for 4 days. I didn’t enjoy it but would still have another jab next season because the risk of seriously sickness from covid is reduced if I have it

Isntitakward · 11/12/2022 01:48

I will never have another Covid vaccine. I’m on my second bout of Covid. First time had Covid before all the jabs were introduced, then had 2 jabs and a booster and now am sick again with Covid, absolutely the same way as last time. I know my Covid is classed as mild, but I don’t feel any different pre or post vaccine. I’m traumatised after having AZ and hearing about all the deaths from it (tragic). I know every medication has side effects but I’m not longer willing to participate. Jabs changed nothing for me. I’m literally repeating my pre-jab Covid.

nalabae · 11/12/2022 04:49

Lol

Legallypinkish · 11/12/2022 06:25

I had the first two but won’t be having any more.

What does: negatively affected mean?
