Does anyone know what’s going on?

I don’t know enough about Chinese politics to understand the implications but anything that destabilises things at the moment makes me jumpy. Can anyone explain

Guardian reported earlier about China and India pressing for negotiated solution to Ukraine war. No mention of Xi house arrest

It does look like it might be fake news but it seems to have spread massively on social media - mainly through Indian media channels so possibly bollocks but the current state of the world is making me so jittery stuff like this really sets me off

Yea I did. The Newsweek story is the most “credible” source I could find which seems to dispel it. The rest of Twitter from various sources of dubious credibility is stoking it

Sorry. I’m struggling with anxiety around all this. DH has been exasperatedly telling me to turn Twitter off and wait for proper news if it exists.
