I'm attending a wedding today so am leaving it late to ask this but was already having doubts and I just read another thread about wedding guest outfits so wanted to check. It's quite a casual wedding, at a small hotel but ceremony in the garden, finger buffet etc. Instructions for clothes was "not that smart, smart casual ish" but this was passed on from brides sister so not sure if reliability!
I'm wearing a skirt very like the one below (couldn't find the actual one online) but with sort of rustic village houses rather than city buildings on, with a coordinated plain top and matching heels. I intended to get a 'normal' wedding guest dress but tried the skirt on in a local shop and fell in love, started having the regret later.
I'm worried it's too off the wall and not 'guesty' enough and at the same time too smart and I'll look like I'm trying too hard if everyone else is more casual. I know it's the 11th hour to be asking opinions but at least I'll be either reassured or can go looking apologetic at my rubbish outfit choice!
AIBU?
To regret this outfit choice?

It sounds fine to me, smart casual. It’s not a very youthful style unless you’ve got your midriff out, it won’t look muttonish.

And yes it looks like a really good fit for your age. You've got taste.
