I hate it when the threads go away

I just settled down with a glass of wine to catch up on the creepy garden music and the thread has gone! It must be the 5th time that this has happened! Always the good ones. Oh well.

OP posts:

This will probably get deleted too as TAAT

Probably..MNHQ are very delete happy. Like extreme helicopter parenting.

PestorPeston · 23/09/2022 20:31

FFS I was just here to hear the boringly sensible explanation on that one.

The night I could hear someone saying "here I am" in the garden turned out to be the cricket ball that the dog had found in the field behind the cricket pitch
Fecking heart attack moment, until we realised the explanation.

CandidaAlbicans2 · 23/09/2022 20:36

I do wish that instead of deleting threads that MNHQ would just lock them with an explaination. Deletions really put me of this site 😞

Huh? What, the cricket ball said "here I am"? @PestorPeston 🤔😲😆

A taliking cricket ball?

onmywayamarillo · 23/09/2022 20:45

Oh she's at it again!

It's called what is that strange noise
Just above this one

Nightynightnight · 23/09/2022 20:46

I was pretty invested in that thread too. I feel like I've just read a book with the last page missing. 😭😭

Can you link?

SynchronisedStrimmer · 23/09/2022 20:50

Aargh, that’s so annoying. I was just looking for it to find out if the mystery had been solved/the demon had manifested.

onmywayamarillo · 23/09/2022 20:51

It was deleted just before I posted here...

JaneJeffer · 23/09/2022 20:52

Aah probably a copycat troll

Um...yes I need to hear more 😂

Don't think that's the same poster. The one tonight's the conspiracy theory poster

Mnhq didn't delete the garden noise as a pbp

Glitterbubble · 23/09/2022 21:03

YANBU 😮 I am on edge, what has gone on?!

I hate it when the threads go away
EricNorthmanYesPlease · 23/09/2022 21:04

MrsHemsworth · 23/09/2022 19:26

Thanks, it wasn't that one that I was thinking of though. I'm sure it was a place name that began with an S?

I think you mean the Savernake Forest one.

Curlywurlynew · 23/09/2022 21:06

Same here! I've spent the last 2 days waiting for updates. I hate being left hanging lol. I guess we'll never know now 😞

PestorPeston · 23/09/2022 21:06

Mnhq didn't delete the garden noise as a pbp
so why did they delete it?

Are we going to wake up tomorrow to a killer clown story?
Or was it outing to find that foxes steak stuff?

Talking cricket ball, easy to make a prototype, dunno if it is a mainstream thing. We dumped it on the green and pretended that we never pocketed stray cricket balls.

Nightynightnight · 23/09/2022 21:28

When I were a lad Mumsnet hq were much less inclined to delete threads "at op's request".

CrunchyCarrot · 23/09/2022 21:28

This thread contains two Savernake forest stories:

www.mumsnet.com/talk/_chat/3484225-Savernake-forest

Chattycathydoll · 23/09/2022 21:36

Maybe they’re now cursed like that creepy Japanese horror movie One Missed Call?

Keroppi · 23/09/2022 21:36

I wonder, maybe crime related ? Missing person/stalker?

BirdinaHedge · 23/09/2022 21:49

What could possibly have escalated and got “quite serious” ?

It was a daft thread in which the OP was winding herself up. There’s usually a simple explanation - a musical birthday card or an old toy. Or an over active imagination.

Pixiedust1234 · 23/09/2022 21:57

As soon as the op mentioned an air raid shelter in the neighbours garden it made me think of squatters. I reckon they found people hiding in it and the noise was to do with them.

Cakeorchocolate · 23/09/2022 19:53

It's very annoying.
Would be less common if the tabloids didn't prowl for stories and if mumsnet didn't promote threads on sm too. Their own worst enemy!

They do THIS!!?? Promote threads on SM?
