To go to the Queue in London in my wedding dress?

I'm not getting married tomorrow but I married earlier this summer, the dress has so many special memories for me and I would love to wear it to honour Her Majesty.

What do you honestly think?

Y7drama · 17/09/2022 23:08

You’d just be doing it for attention. Bizarre idea

ddl1 · 17/09/2022 23:08

You want to wear a wedding dress to a memorial event? Not to mention that wearing a long dress when queueing for hours in London is likely to be uncomfortable, and that you'll be lucky if the dress isn't ruined for good after that, AND that you are unlikely to be warm enough in the current weather. Well, there's no law against it; but don't be surprised if you get some odd looks.

wherearebeefandonioncrisps · 17/09/2022 23:08

Utterly ridiculous.
It's not about you. It's about respect for The Queen.

Yalz · 17/09/2022 23:09

I agree with most of the previous posters.

if you want to know how long you’d be in the Queue, follow QE2Queue on Twitter.

It's the accessible queue that has closed but I can't see main queue being open for much longer. Everyone seems to be having a last minute wobble about rushing off to queue.

Horcruxe · 17/09/2022 23:09

YABU

It's not about you.

Usernamenotavailabletryanother · 17/09/2022 23:09

Best idea ever.

Definitely do it.

DutchessOfMuck · 17/09/2022 23:10

I cant move 😂

🤪

TrufflesForBreakfast · 17/09/2022 23:10

That's a totally unacceptable choice of outfit during a period of mourning. Most people will be wearing black and sombre colours with little interest in standing out.

I believe this must be a wind up. If it isn't then ffs behave, op.

Crunchymum · 17/09/2022 23:10

If this is for real I hope they don't let you queue for 14 hours and then stop you entering for being inappropriately dressed.

WagathaChristieMystery · 17/09/2022 23:11

To be totally honest, and I do mean this kindly, it does seem a bit of a random outfit choice for the occasion - and given you’ll spend so long queueing in quite cold temperatures, it may not be the most practical option either.

SueDCreme · 17/09/2022 23:11

Contact Alice Beer, meet up and hand out lumps of stale wedding cake and tell everyone that the queue's more exciting than your wedding reception ever was

Allmyarseandpeggymartin · 17/09/2022 23:11

Why tho??

Janesdufflecoat · 17/09/2022 23:12

Go for it! There are all sorts of outfits going through there!

Amybelle88 · 17/09/2022 23:13

Oh sod the sod off.

But do it cos it's hysterical 😂😂😂

Also just thinking you might damage your dress in the queue. Wouldn’t you rather keep it nice and pristine rather than risk ruining it?

TwinkleChristmas · 17/09/2022 23:13

Cringy.

FilthyforFirth · 17/09/2022 23:13

Someone's hoping to be interviewed. What a batshit thing to suggest. The RF want traditional mourning and that is black. So it doesnt really smack of 'paying your respects' or 'honouring the queen' or whatever nonsense you wrote...

Sparklingbrook · 17/09/2022 23:15

Yes, you must do this-why wouldn't you? presumably your new husband will tag along in his top hat and tails?

PinkiOcelot · 17/09/2022 23:15

Seriously?! Don’t be ridiculous!

Whadda · 17/09/2022 23:15

Drip-feed:

Turns out the queen turned up to your wedding in the summer dressed like she was at a funeral.

PimlicoUK · 17/09/2022 23:16

Would you show up to any other funeral in a white wedding dress? Seriously? 🙄🙄

Womencanlift · 17/09/2022 23:17

I doubt the OP will be back. One of these drop something ridiculous and run threads.

Obviously been on the gin tonight

Testina · 17/09/2022 23:17

I’d take one look at you and think you were an attention seeking wanker with no respect whatsoever 🤷🏻‍♀️

Sparklingbrook · 17/09/2022 23:17

Is this the start of the last 24 hours or so of the queuing being fancy dress?
