The queens gambit

Confused by this suggestion. There's a fair bit of sex and romance in that series.

I suppose they don't show much on screen, but I'm not sure it's what the op is after. Great series though

MuddlerInLaw · 01/10/2022 08:31

I’m wondering what the reason is for wanting to avoid romance on screen, OP?

A Few Good Men, I remember being surprised that Tom Cruise and Demi Moore's characters didn't have a fling.

They do don’t they??

ColonelNobbyNobbs · 01/10/2022 08:37

or did I just imagine it because it was so expected!!!

Stranger Things. It has worse stuff though really 😬

It has sex and romance in as well. Steve and Nancy have sex in about episode 2 of the first season.

A bit more information is needed really OP. You should be fine with any sort of panel show, game show, documentary or non-fiction shows like shows about cookery, property, antiques, craft etc.

If you're looking for fiction it's more difficult. Few shows have no romance whatsoever. What would be acceptable - would you avoid any show with couples in?

Succession - surprisingly little

Dr Who

Mallory Towers..

Balanced by one guy who likes to wank while being dominated by his superior/needs women to lie corpse-like for him to get off 🤣

The Martian

There is in the Martian.

Basically Johasson and Beck are coupled up. In the normal version the only real indication you get is when she kisses his helmet in the airlock. But it makes more sense in the extended version when they are trying to allocate crew quarters for the return journey. It's a shame they decided to cut it IMO.

Great movie though and not much "relationships".

There is a hint when she comes back to have dinner with him and "kind of" awkwardly asks him on a date (or what he then suggests is a date).

Great movie though. Jack Nicholson should have won an oscar for that.

Does Alien(s) have any romance/sex in it ?

Also Untouchables I don't think has any. Huge amount of violence though.

Mr Harrigans Phone ( new on Netflix) is creepy but romance-less.
The Inside Mann (bbc short series) is romance-less.
I Came By ( recent Netflix movie) has a young couple who have a baby but there's no sex and the romance element of their relationship isn't featured: they are just together.
