Thai cave rescue on Netflix is romance and sex free (from what I’ve watched - and I can’t see it making an appearance). It’s pretty tense and emotional though (even knowing the outcome doesn’t change that).

Waking The Dead (all series inc pilot on Iplayer). Some great ensemble acting. The opposite of a lot of dramas where script is saved by having moody silences. Instead you have characters talking over each other, asides, jokes etc. Much like real life.

Unforgotten has minimal romance. I like the essential question of what happens when something long buried is brought out into the open.

Miss Marple (Joan Hickson era). Mostly harmless!

This week I watched 'Lou', no sex but a fair amount of violence.

Worth - about what a person is worth. It's basically about the compensation for 9/11 victims.

Shepherds and Butchers - a teenager in apartheid SA doesn't want to go to war so opts to do his national service in a prison where he is involved with executing prisoners. It's gritty but worth a watch.

Patriots day - about the bombing of the Boston marathon.

The Red Sea diving resort - Spies from Israel set up a diving school / hotel in Sudan as a front to rescue Jewish refugees.

Anything with Jeremy Clarkson makes my foo shrivel up to the size of a walnut. HTH.

Master and Commander was a good film with no sex or romance.

(Apparently the book series its inspired by had loads but ...)

BBC Ghosts, v funny

Very funny, but full of references to sex and romance.

The Station Agent (film) is about friendship rather than romance. There is a small romantic element but not the main impetus.

Depends what you mean by no romance. If literally no romance at all, for example nobody has a crush on anyone, nobody is in a relationship they talk about etc, that’s very hard.

I was going to say Death in Paradise but there is a bit of a romantic side story and some of the murder victims were in relationships!
