Annoying MIL goes on about DS being DH twin

does anyone else have this issue, you’d think that DH just cloned himself and I had nothing to do with it according to her.

AIBU to find it annoying, does anyone else have the same problem.

DS also looks like both of us he’s got my eye shape and nose and hair DH family are happy to point out how cute said features are but so far unable to acknowledge he has a single thing from me.

i should add my MIL is nice and so is family but it’s getting annoying to be told your child looks nothing like you and everything is from dad

(strangers do notice the resemblance between myself and DS and my own family are happy to acknowledge they can see us both)

My MIL insists my son has her mum's eyes, well as he's the spit of me he probably actually has mine (both blue..) I just leave her to it!

My son is mixed race and looks 100% like his father. I could say I adopted him and it would be easily believed.

Personality wise he is all me.

I have an ex-colleague on FB.

They’re both American - her husband is blonde and blue-eyes, of Irish decent. She is Jewish with dark hair, dark eyes and olive skin.

Her first daughter was born, and is a mirror image of her blond, blue-eyed husband, right down to the face shape.

But then a couple of weeks ago, she posted a picture of her parents (similar in looks to her) for their 50th wedding anniversary.

I was amazed at how much her DD looked like her Mum.

Maybe her DH thinks his DD is his mirror image, and would be dismissive of his MIL saying she sees family resemblances!

Objectively though, she is definitely the child of both families.
