The swan and chips is a good pub name

the80sweregreat · 08/09/2022 18:07

ITV is better than watching Nicolas Witchell who seems to have a chip on his shoulder the size of Scotland.
Not sure why though!

ememem84 · 08/09/2022 18:07

This is bizarre. All of us almost waiting to be told that someone has died. But wishing that we don’t hear it.

WildFlowerBees · 08/09/2022 18:07

Be great if she was sitting in bed with a cuppa asking her family what the fuck is going on outside.

vivariumvivariumsvivaria · 08/09/2022 18:07

Gawd, Harry really should have got there sharpish. If he delays things that won't help build family bridges. Won't he just have been given an RAF flight? It's a bit wild for helicopters, but surely a prince of the realm isn't sitting behind a tractor or a sheep just off the A9?

CoconutSky · 08/09/2022 18:07

i would imagine at the age of 96 there would be quite a few “false alarms” or?
it is very sad

Fenella123 · 08/09/2022 18:05

If she drives out of those Balmoral gates and waves merrily to the crowds I for one would be delighted. "I feel a bit better now, can I have some swan and chips?!" Sadly I suspect not.

Feels very odd. As it's gone six the OH has gone out to do some chores, declaring, "A watched clog never pops!"

I'd love it if she did that.

Newschaos · 08/09/2022 18:07

Newsroom is currently chaos, they’ve had the confirmation and announcement internally but when official announcement is being made is unclear.

Veeragall · 08/09/2022 18:07

There is no way they are waiting for Harry. She does have 6 other grandchildren (plus William).

CanThisBe · 08/09/2022 18:07

Imagine the panic currently at the BBC, if they really don't know if/when news is expected and they've gone far too early with he rolling coverage?

Watching the BBC and I get the feeling they were expecting an announcement at 6pm

I can't believe you didn't provide any citation to any of the claims you made a couple of pages ago. Well, I can actually because you were just making it all up.

MrsDanversGlidesAgain · 08/09/2022 18:08

OK, last comment, @hettyby . Were you capable of understanding English you'd realise that prurient actually also means a rather unpleasant comment about moving the queen's body and being a bit too eager to know the details. Unwholesome might be a better word. Incidentally, you're the one harping on about it being sexual interest - not anyone else.

Tierne · 08/09/2022 18:08

The palace definitely does owe us an update (NB the palace meaning the team behind the palace not the family themselves)

He's still upset that Prince Charles hates him.

Largethighsbadeyes · 08/09/2022 18:09

"A watched clog never pops" is a brilliant phrase 🤣

I really really hope she pulls through. What a lady

PleaseGoDontGoAgain · 08/09/2022 18:09

What if she's dying for the next fortnight? The news is going to get very wearisome.

iloveyankeecandle · 08/09/2022 18:09

I am so sad about all this. Lost a grandparent recently and it's bringing it all back. Love the queen and everything about her. Genuinely sad.

SleeplessInEngland · 08/09/2022 18:09

I admire the dedication of shitposters pretending to have inside info.

I reckon he's agreed with the BBC that her dying is his cue to retire

wellhelloitsme · 08/09/2022 18:10

Thegroaninggurner · 08/09/2022 18:05

Where are all these people that said there would be an announcement at 6pm? Seems we have a few bullshitters on here.

None of them have come back and admitted their 'sources' were actually Dave from the pub whose mate works in security services posting in a WhatsApp group...

A couple of my journalist pals have said that nothing formal has been officially confirmed by the palace but they're all assuming it's happened already so are prepping as it will obviously be in the next few hours. But that isn't as exciting as people saying 'it will DEFINITELY be bang on six' is it!
