Reiki and "womb cleansing"....

My usually rational friend has recommended i try Reiki as a way to heal my emotional pain. Womb healing too...apparently we sit on little wooden pottys and steam our vaginas to cleanse our wombs and connect with our, and I quote, "devine femininity".

From what I have read, it seems like a load of hippy nonsense and it's not cheap.

Anyone had any experience of it? Should i bother??

Please don't steam your vagina/vulva. Burns are painful at the best of times without it being in delicate places like that. Fwiw I do think it's bollocks but I don't really usually care what people do but when these things suggest daft stuff like 'steam your vulva' 'put cloves of garlic or tea tree oil up your vagina' it becomes a problem.

Reiki I had once for maybe 5-10 mins and nearly floated out of the room but the second thing you describe is insane - and dangerous!!

Trying reiki won't do you any harm and isn't expensive, so why not? A lot of people find it really relaxing at least. As for the other idea... what they said above. 😂

Do the people peddling this bollocks not realise that steam on your vulva doesn't go anywhere near your womb?

I'm not sure if you should bother or not op but my neighbour, who is a farmer, steams her hens' nethers when they are egg found. Works wonders apparently 😁

The steaming can be dangerous as there is a risk of burns. However there is probably no harm in the reiki, if it helps/makes you feel better then great. If it’s doesn’t, then you don’t bother again.

You lost me at "it's not cheap". A new pair of shoes or handbag has always helped my emotional pain.

Reiki can have the same effect as meditation. This sort of stuff is good for the brain/mood.
Vulva steaming was cultural and before pain killers etc was supposed to ease symptoms. Sometimes it was part of a bigger ceremony. It shows that some people will buy into anything.
