Rinoachicken · 06/09/2022 17:10

But she never says HOW she’s going to achieve these things??

But she never says HOW she’s going to achieve these things??

Nope.
It's all wishy washy bull crap.

vera99 · 06/09/2022 17:13

Crikey consider the nation nonplussed at best. At least Boris gave good lecturn.

YoniWheretheSunDontShine · 06/09/2022 17:29

Why is Beth rigby so popular?

I'm driven mad by the g dropping.

She went for Boris jugular over COVID and parties and was then revealed to be a hypocrite.
Now she's almost lamenting the loss of Boris.

Truss speech was useless, beyond useless and we can't build hospitals or do anything with this horrific payment over all our heads.

Re new homes? Fuck sake I've never seen so much house building and it's now on green belt and green spaces all around me.
Yet our pollution levels are dreadul!

vera99 · 06/09/2022 17:45

Anyone being objective would say that was a terrible speech, offering no vision at all, very little hope for a better future, and played the NHS card. Delivery was shockingly bad, she basically read it like a teenager reading out loud in class.

She made Starmer sound like a cross between Churchill, Kennedy, Blair, and Obama rolled into one. Starmer in open PMQs will destroy her.

Sporty2022 · 06/09/2022 17:50

Rubbish speech that could have taken 10 minutes to write on the back of a fag packet.
Soundbites, buzz words and no substance whatsoever.

Cornettoninja · 06/09/2022 17:55

Soundbites, buzz words and no substance whatsoever

Boris(sh)ite.

Blossomtoes · 06/09/2022 18:01

PMQs tomorrow. Can’t wait.

vera99 · 06/09/2022 18:01

There was no reaching out, no acknowledgement of the problems so many face, no vision or passion. nothing to inspire. Quite a few Tory MPs are probably aghast at what the membership has imposed upon them and wondering how long before the wheels come off the Truss Bus. The ERG will be spitting if she doesn't invoke Article 16 of the Protocol sharpish - and their spiritual leader Lord Frost tuned out at least two posts he was offered.

Blossomtoes · 06/09/2022 17:08

Wtf? Tribute to Johnson? 😡

History will see him as a hugely consequential PM Confused

I think history will see him as a massive twat actually Liz, you big arse licker.

vera99 · 06/09/2022 18:09

To be fair Theresa May wasn't much better and her speech was only 3 minutes.

derxa · 06/09/2022 18:12

Blossomtoes · 06/09/2022 17:08

Wtf? Tribute to Johnson? 😡

It's called being gracious.

derxa · 06/09/2022 18:12

It's called being gracious.

Or arse-licky, depending on your perspective.

UnnecessaryFennel · 06/09/2022 18:16

I think I'm going to be setting an alarm on my phone for PMQs every week, after that performance. Can't wait to see her up against Starmer, will be hilarious. So wooden we need another word for it.

And basically admitting that the last 12 years of Tory rule have been an appalling shitshow that have left the country in tatters. She should probably shoot her scriptwriters.

vera99 · 06/09/2022 18:21

With Sir Keir cherry-picking ripe quotes from the leadership contest. He's getting better at jokes as well. That said she appears unflappable - but there won't be the chemistry that Boris had even with Angela Rayner - now that's gonna be a great cat fight. miaow...

carefullycourageous · 06/09/2022 18:25

she appears unflappable she is oblivious I think

Anothernamechangeplease · 06/09/2022 18:25

PMQs is going to be cringeworthy.

A bit like those early x-factor series where they allowed the really awful candidates to audition just so that the nation could laugh at their public humiliation.

It seems almost cruel...Starmer is going to make mincemeat of her. Probably using all of the soundbites that the Tories have collectively handed up to him during the course of this campaign.

the80sweregreat · 06/09/2022 18:30

Yep, it was almost as if she has forgotten who has been in power for the last 12 years!
Hoping the spade metaphor means digging her own booming grave ( with any luck )

carefullycourageous · 06/09/2022 18:31

I really hope that PMQs is as good as we anticipate Grin

I thought her speech was really badly delivered, boring and bland. But it was not quite as bad as I expectedt, because I judge everything against pork markets Grin

vera99 · 06/09/2022 18:33

BBC reporting that IDS turned down a position - so a back bench carper who knows when to stay out of a shitshow.

UnnecessaryFennel · 06/09/2022 18:33

He will be impeccably polite, and utterly forensic. She won't be able to rely on harnessing the 'charisma' (aka bluster, lies and showboating) of her predecessor. It will be beautiful.

UnnecessaryFennel · 06/09/2022 18:36

Pork Markets was indeed a thing of wonder Grin

'Liz, stop trying to make Aspiration Nation happen.'

derxa · 06/09/2022 18:37

He's getting better at jokes as well His jokes are appalling.

Sporty2022 · 06/09/2022 18:38

Indeed her speech reminded me of Theresa May. Another PM who became leader without an election.
Im not sure how long Liz will last? If she’s lucky, until the next GE (2024. She may cling in until them…
