And I don't feel even the slightest bit unreasonable. In fact, I bought them knowing that I'd sit and eat them all as soon as I got home.

What do you regularly buy, knowing that you will use/eat the lot of it?

Money was tight when I was a kid, so you couldn't touch anything until it had been opened.
I was 18 when I found out that my mum (with surgical precision) would make a cut on one side of a packet of chocolate digestives. The packet would then be stood on end in the fridge and she would have one with her morning coffee.
On the weekend, as a treat, a plate of biscuits would be produced to universal acclaim.

mamabear715 · 29/08/2022 18:45

@spanktastic you sound just like my youngest daughter! She still says the happiest day of her life was when our chest freezer broke & I had to cook about a ton of chicken all at the same time.. :-)

My weakness is brazil nuts.. I tell myself it's fine because they are good for you. Maybe not in the quantities I scoff them.. AND they have after effects.. :-(

My previous fave was trifle. Thank goodness I'm lactose intolerant or I'd be the size of a bloody house. If anyone knows any made without dairy, PLEASE don't tell me!

A pack of 4 cream chocolate éclairs, any share bag of crisps, a box of matchmakers, but I always feel guilty.

saveforthat · 29/08/2022 18:46

Sunbird24 · 29/08/2022 18:20

Matchmakers, any flavour. Today it was a sharing bag of mint Aero bubbles - allegedly 8 bubbles is a portion. Ha!

Matchmakers are now so small a portion even someone with normal habits would not consider it unreasonable to eat the whole box. I can eat a whole box of crunchy nut cornflakes. I don't like cereal apart from CNC. I never ever buy them now.

lll3333 · 29/08/2022 18:46

You are not BU if it was a box of all lemon ones, however, you are BU if they were mixed.. lemon ones are the best & there should be no upper limit on those.. Grin

Sainsburys sugar ring doughnuts
Sharing bag of giant Wotsits
M&S toffee pecan shortbread

Currently in hospital and would kill for some decent food.

@AdditionalCharacter OMG Wotsits! They were my pregnancy craving with DD last year! Someone brought a sharing bag to our house at Christmas (I was eight months pregnant) and I went off into a corner with them and growled at anyone who came near 😂

I have just eaten a whole pack of French Fancies too and yes, such a lot of sugar-I'm shaking.
I am really worried and wondering if I should call 999.

My main worry is that I am now shaking too much to be able to prise the top off my Pringles. They may not be able to send around someone around to help but it is an emergency so perhaps I should.
Will it pass do you think? Will I get my pringles in the next 10 minutes.

Ah, but are you CRYING and shaking? You've got to be crying too or it just doesn't count on Mumsnet I'm afraid...

withlotsoflove · 29/08/2022 18:48

Babybelle cheese. I could eat 100’s. 😂

PepsiMaxandPringleStacks · 29/08/2022 18:48

Omg the winter French fancies 🤤🤤 frosty fancies is that what they're called?

I could polish off most things lol. I am a greedy gorb Grin

I can easily put away one of those packs of salted caramel shortbreads from their fresh bakery. Very easily

Ooh my favourite - where do you get them from?

readwritelove · 29/08/2022 18:49

Packet of shortbread

TheOriginalMrsMoss · 29/08/2022 18:49

spanktastic · 29/08/2022 18:04

I'm not keen on sweet stuff but I scoffed a whole roast chicken once

Were you channelling your inner Labrador?

I can't be trusted with fresh, squashy hot cross buns, bannock fruit cake, McCoys Salt n Vinegar or salted peanuts. Can't leave them alone until the whole lot is gone. I don't buy these things anymore.

I can recommend keeping Lemon Fondant Fancies in the freezer. This was my go to indulgence in the summer with a piping hot cup of Yorkshire tea.

DogInATent · 29/08/2022 18:51

M&Ms.

Vampirethriller · 29/08/2022 18:51

Does anyone remember when Mr Kipling apple pies had custard inside them? I could have eaten them by the lorry load.

GreenNewDealNow · 29/08/2022 18:51

A whole multi pack of pickled onion monster munch.

PinkRiceKrispies · 29/08/2022 18:52

Could easily do that. Nothing to those cakes anymore. Everything has shrunk in size.

Norachance · 29/08/2022 18:52

A four pack of crème caramel. Not fancy M&S ones the four for a pound from sainsbury or Tesco.

fannyfan · 29/08/2022 18:52

Cheese.

Camembert and bread.

Giant wotsits

TheOriginalMrsMoss · 29/08/2022 18:52

Vampirethriller · 29/08/2022 18:44

Kellogg's Crunchy Nut peanut butter.
Have been known to eat a whole Colin Caterpillar cake.

Wait - what? Kellogg's Crunchy Nut peanut butter exists? That might have to go straight on the can't be trusted list!

ShandaLear · 29/08/2022 18:53

A MASSIVE SALAD.

Only kidding. Colin the Caterpillar cake.

CheshireCat1 · 29/08/2022 18:54

Coconut mushrooms

Emotionalfuckwit · 29/08/2022 18:54

Tunnucks tea cakes
KitKat's - chunky or regular
Creme eggs - easily 2 boxes
Dairy milk - big bar
Whole loaf of crusty bread (crust very burnt) with real butter
A loaf of toast with above mentioned butter - Waitrose do a nice one with salt crystals in 🤤

AdditionalCharacter · 29/08/2022 18:57

@Underthehills the giant ones are very addictive, either the cheese or flaming hot ones the prawn cocktail ones belong in hell.

Diva66 · 29/08/2022 18:58

Big bags of Kettle chips
