And I don't feel even the slightest bit unreasonable. In fact, I bought them knowing that I'd sit and eat them all as soon as I got home.

What do you regularly buy, knowing that you will use/eat the lot of it?

Tyrells salt and vinegar crisps. Dipped in Philadelphia. Not sorry at all!

sageandbasil · 29/08/2022 22:09

Pringles

uncomfortablydumb53 · 29/08/2022 22:09

Cadbury's chocolate fingers

Angelinflipflops · 29/08/2022 22:10

Binge eating is not great

Leftbutcameback · 29/08/2022 22:10

@Rosscameasdoody those are my favourite biscuits! I have a colleague who loves them too. We can't be trusted to share.

FuglyBitch · 29/08/2022 22:11

Peppermint cremes
peanuts
sharing bag of crisps
poppadoms

RaRaRaspoutine · 29/08/2022 22:12

KETTLE CHIPS. Although I actually haven’t bought them for years as I just hoover the whole bag in one. Lovely things.

DrMadelineMaxwell · 29/08/2022 22:15

Very much enjoyed reading this thread!

I was q glad when jaffa cake packets went from 12 to 10 as I'd still eat the whole pack, but at least it was a couple less now. :)

I can leave most chocolates and shop bought cakes. But biscuits and home made cakes or cheesecake or doughuts are dangerous ground.

I can eat a whole pack of tunnocks teacakes, no problem. And the new (to me) haagen dazs caramel gelato is lovely - I did manage to make it last 2 servings, and it's lower cal than the standard stuff, but still.... worth it though.

The only thing I find is that I can't overeat or even eat too late in n evening anymore without stunning heartburn, so that does put a dampener on any late night snacking!

Hawdyerwheesht · 29/08/2022 22:15

Oh dear, this blew up rather quickly. For those who have expressed worry for me, I can confirm that it's not a common occurrence by any means.

Apologies for the added costs to grocery bills that this thread has inspired.

Known as French fancies to me?

I had lentil and vegetable bake for dinner if it interests anyone 😁

M&S Blonde Chocolate Milkshake. Can easily drink the whole bottle which is approximately an entire days worth of calories!

goldenbag · 29/08/2022 22:17

For all those moaning that it's binge eating - it's only really the equivalent of a very large slice of cake. It's around 600 calories and admittedly a lot of sugar, but presumably it's not an everyday snack!!

TheChosenTwo · 29/08/2022 22:18

@pinana I’m going to see if I can find that, sounds right up my street 😋
Op I have a mega sweet tooth but fondant fancies (or whatever they’re called!) really hurt my teeth so I couldn’t eat more than one.
however, I love Jaffa cakes and can eat a whole packet of them. See also any kind of sharing bag crisps.

All those Irish Cadbury’s bars are really delicious. Golden Crisp, Tiffin etc much nicer than the stuff you get in the UK

Mmm you've just reminded me about caramello

Perhaps you should start a healthy food thread where we can all be virtuous and miserable by way of contrition.Smile

I'm enjoying this thread, it's stopping me snacking. Thank you, glad you're okay.

SomethingToldTheWildGeese · 29/08/2022 22:24

I can easily eat a full box of Special K 🐖

Lucinda7 · 29/08/2022 22:26

I bought a box of Belgian chocolate biscuits for Xmas last week. I am about a third of the way through.

babysgotthespends · 29/08/2022 22:29

I used to eat a whole Sara Lee chocolate gateau. I used to work part time in Safeways in the 90s and you could buy the small frozen ones for 99p. I used to stick it in the fridge, give it an hour to defrost, get a spoon and dig in. It took a few sittings but it would be complete by the end of the day. I'd do it several times a month. #goodtimes

AllFreeOwls · 29/08/2022 22:44

Starburst minis! I've had to stop buying them as I could eat a packet in a sitting.

a1poshpaws · 29/08/2022 22:44

Buchanans Chocolate Caramels. I would kill anyone who stole the last one in the packet.

BritishDesiGirl · 29/08/2022 22:48

I miss the junk food from the 90s 😢. My dad bless used to buy the Sara Lee gateua and the lemon meringue pie.

I have a terrible sweet tooth, bordering on obscene.

a1poshpaws · 29/08/2022 22:49

p.s. I'm so glad lots of us can admit to an occasional "sinful" splurge without assuming we've become clinical binge eaters! It must be soul destroying to take every little thing as seriously as that.

hashbrownsandwich · 29/08/2022 22:49

Cocktail sausages

Sunbird24 · 29/08/2022 22:50

I miss Sara Lee pecan danish. Does anywhere still do the raspberry jam-filled pink iced buns or the lemon curd-filled yellow iced ones? Could eat all 5 of those too. If you don’t separate them surely they’re just one cake…

My 4 dogs applaud your good taste. I have to buy them a £1 pack from the supermarket every week, or they'll poop in the house. (That's the deal ... 😂)

TheChosenTwo · 29/08/2022 22:55

@BritishDesiGirl you’ve just summed up my entire childhood by mentioning those 2 desserts! We alternated them every Sunday.
One time though, mum went rogue and made a baked Alaska - crucially didn’t seal up the ice cream all the way round and left a gap. Melty ice cream catastrophe and we never spoke of it again 😂 back to the rotation of 2 desserts we went.
