To ask what you're doing today on bank holiday?

No plans for me. I'm at home, bored. I don't do sitting around at home. I need/ like to be active. Feel like I should get doing something today instead of wasting the day doing nothing. I could be doing various jobs indoors but I CBA to start them and their not urgent jobs, just trivial ones.
Hit me up with your exciting plans for today

Worked night shift last night so been asleep. Just hailving a coffee in bed then my Mum and Aunt are visiting so we'll sit in the garden in the sun for a bit. Then I'll probably make some food.

Are there no local events you could take a wander to OP? Is there a park near you you could wander to with a book and enjoy the sun?

Took the DC school uniform/shoe shopping and did a food shop. Found everything apart from plain black trainers so have ordered them on Amazon.

Having a coffee/rest and then I am going to do the housework and clean the windows.

Spring cleaning.

ok, slightly late but I was poorly in the spring. Ds is away for a week with his dad so I am doing a room at a time, heaving out all the furniture, hoovering underneath, washing window &door frames and skirting boards, cleaning windows. Polishing furniture. Washing curtains.

All the windows are open, the place smells of lavender furniture polish.

I've scrubbed the bathroom within an inch of its life.

Lunch next then ds bedroom and hall & stairs. I'll polish my halo last 😎

Working at my second job for now, and my third one later while the third laundry load of the day chugs on in the background.

I might take time off to enjoy a coffee for half an hour though I'll spend every second thinking about how I should be working instead...

DH and I did a much needed tidy up of the garden. If I’m brutally honest, he did most of the hard work whilst I followed about spraying weed killer. Contemplating sitting in it with a glass of wine/cider and enjoying the effort, but up early for work in the morning so probably best not to.

DS (13) has taken himself off to the barber for a back to school haircut, DD (10) is watching Antz and trying to put on mascara without smudging it all over her face.

Did some cooking for freezer.

Did next months budget.

Did meal plans for the month.

Wrote this weeks shopping list.

Watched McDonald and Dodds episode.

Prepped some of tonight's roast. Which I'll cook later!

Had a shower and shaved my legs!

Yesterday we finished our new shed and put everything into it and tomorrow ds and I are working and then meeting other families at local pub.

He's back to swim training Wednesday (at 5am!) - he's had a month off after British champs so we are enjoying some downtime and prep time before we return to college and work and training properly in a few days!

Did some washing and cleaning this morning, going to the pub now to meet my mum for a few drinks in the lovely beer garden then she’s coming back to mine and I’ll cook dinner for her and teen DD. After she leaves I’m planning to change my bedding for the new set I bought yesterday and have a long bath before getting into it.

I am working all day but did have a bit of a lie in. I am self employed and work from home, and it is great to work in peace without being hassled by phonecalls and emails. I had a few days away last week so knew I would have to work today to catch up again.

We are having a lazy day, the rest of the week will be quite busy.

I have spent most of the day on the sofa. I have done some jobs around the house.

I’ve tidied up a bit and put food shop away from Tesco delivery.
Currently waiting for hospital to ring to say DH is out of surgery and I can go in and visit.

Took the kids out to a local childrens trail/beauty spot earlier today. I live near beaches but don’t want the busyness and parking issues of beaches on a bank holiday. The trail was just right, not too busy and sunny with a breeze. Miraculously the kids had no major meltdowns

Now looking at all the things in the house I can’t clean because I have two young kids who constantly want snacks…

Well my 12 month old and I have walked the dog. There is a thing on in town with big inflatable sculptures that look like tentacle p0rn, entertainment and a massive sandpit so we've had a walk up there. My DS has rampaged around the sandpit like the fearless, freshly toddling toddler he is whilst I've chased him around and tried to stop him knocking over all the sandcastles. Now we're home and he's napping so we'll probably spend the rest of the day doing f all till his dad gets home from work this evening.

I have spring cleaned the kitchen and cupboards this morning. DD had a driving lesson and needed driving to meet the instructor. I have done four loads of post holiday laundry. Now sitting outside sunbathing and about to finish reading my summer book. It is hot here, so we will have a BBQ outside. Nice quiet day that we all needed.

Worked 6-2. Nipped into town to return dds school trousers that don't fit. Trailed round town for half an hour while said dd complained she didn't like any other trousers.
Came home. Sorted Pack ups. Now sat watching Erin Brokowitz.
Exciting stuff!

I'm mostly lying in bed listening to podcasts, playing daft games and mumsnetting.

I have covid so I'm only going into the other areas of the house when I need to (masked and sanitised) as I don't want to pass it on to anyone else.

I have a stinking cold, so other than a quick trip to drop some flowers off as a thank you, I've just been resting, trying to get better to be honest! Did have a very nice, relaxing bath this morning also though.

DC have been in their rooms, we're not long back from holiday so they're all resting and trying to get into a decent routine ready for school this week. DH has done all the uniform ironing whilst watching a film.

We're having spaghetti & meatballs for dinner, then I will be getting back in to bed embarrassingly early because I haven't managed to sleep through the night fully in over two weeks. I'm so, so tired!

Been for a walk and collected Blackberries. Changed beds and got some washing out and dry. Just relaxing the rest of the time.

I'm in Scotland so no bank holiday. I've been working and getting increasing frustrated that everyone I need to talk to is not working today!!
