To ask what you're doing today on bank holiday?

No plans for me. I'm at home, bored. I don't do sitting around at home. I need/ like to be active. Feel like I should get doing something today instead of wasting the day doing nothing. I could be doing various jobs indoors but I CBA to start them and their not urgent jobs, just trivial ones.

Chilled morning, went to the tip now doing laundry and about to have some lunch.
We were going to go out but we've got stuff to do here.

DD starts reception next week and has been at nursery for most of the summer, so we’ve both got this week off to have some fun before she starts school. Went swimming this morning and then to McDonald’s for lunch, where she’s currently running around the play area like a lunatic. I’m assuming she’ll crash in an hour or so and we’ll cuddle on the sofa and watch some Bluey!

DH is working today so will pick him up at 4 and he’s going to cook us veggie chilli and chips for tea.

I deep cleaned the bathroom this morning as it was disgusting and then did 2 hours of school work in preparation for inset on Thursday. DH, DS and DDog are on their way back from a hike in preparation for their trip to Snowdon in October half term. I’ve tidied the kitchen, am cooking lunch and then this afternoon I shall probably make a cake and watch some crap telly. Tesco delivery coming at 4pm then chicken kievs for dinner and watch a film. A quiet day!

I think I'm broken, I got up early of myself own accord- before the kids even, even after a late night. I was in the supermarket before 9. I’ve made a full breakfast. Cleaned the kitchen and washed up again after. Hoovered (twice)and done 2 loads of washing.
Emptied the car to be cleaned.

I think I'm poorly. 😂 need a nap now

Waiting for DH to get up after his 2 night shifts so I can go back to bed ! I've walked the dog, stripped the bed and done 2 loads of washing, folded dry washing, hoovered the living room and bedroom, and taken a covid test because I feel rubbish and both my grandkids had it last week. It's negative so I'm obviously just chronically school holiday childcare tired. I'd booked a swim for this aft but am sacking that off.

Haha not exciting sorry! Had busy day yesterday and v busy weekend coming.

i got up late, did some yoga, had breakfast then went for lovely swim. Got some reading to do for a project I am working on. Might take Dd for a coffee later.

The weather’s not fab here and we are at the seaside as part of next weekend, so a day trip would be not great.

OP can you make the most of the day - have a long bath and face mask, or watch a great film with someone (or alone) or spend an hour reading a book? Start a jigsaw, do some cross stitch, go out and buy wool and a knitting pattern and start a lovely autumn scarf?

Yeah - bastard Tesco this morning, then I'm working till 815pm.

Dp is off sick ATM so no change for him.

Laundry drying on the line, warm day so doors open and lounging on the sofa. CBA to do the garden. Have taken a short walk through the village to return something I borrowed, no-one about.

I'm building a bird table - or I will be in a minute when I've forced myself from a semi-recumbent position in my bed.

Working , I get Scottish bank holidays so mine is next month which I prefer.

Watching Shetland and eating cashew nuts. Daughter is on the phone / gaming upstairs with her friends so I'm going to do absolutely naff all today.

Walked DDog for 2 hours at 7am, came back and made plum cakes, delivered some to 2 lovely neighbours, cooked garlic prawns, courgette and salad for lunch.
Another DDog walk later then having a manicure and pedicure.
Lovely lazy day!

Sat at my desk working! I'm a Uni academic so tend to take time off when it suits me and my work patterns rather than when Bank Holidays dictate! Planning to take next Friday off for a long weekend away.

Neighbours coming over for a drink later. That’s it. A nice chilled bank holiday, just how I like them.

I'm giving blood right now 😇😇 that's my good deed for the day and I plan to spend the rest of it chilling and eating sugary foods on the advice of the nurses 😂😂

Working for double time.

Nothing exciting here sadly. Am broke til payday on Weds (then most of that will go on school uniform etc) so it's a day at home. DD is glued to YouTube and I am meant to be cleaning the house as we've gone a bit feral over the holidays. However I am lounging around on the sofa reading mumsnet and glaring at the mess instead

Nothing. I find bank holidays so depressing - it’s that January 1st type feeling where almost everything is closed.

Not very exciting here! DH is working. Did some fantasy home shopping on RightMove for when we have more deposit saved, had a shower, put laundry away, ate lunch and am now watching Without a Trace and chilling with a coffee before getting a bus over to my parents’.

Got a poorly 3 year old to look after and I am being induced on Friday with baby number 2 so I'm sorting and cleaning in between cuddling and hoping I won't catch this illness!

Lying on my bed. DH out with DD. I've been cleaning and I just lay down for a rest.

Going to put a wash on and then hang it out. Might watch a film or "when cousins marry on Netflix".

Car boot sale this morning followed by trip to tkmaxx - just having coffee in Nero - then I’ve got to drop a birthday present off for a friend
when I get home I need to clean out the fish and mow lawn
if I get everything done before dark I will be sat in garden with a book and a glass of wine

I'm on holiday. Just stopped to sit on a bench in the shade with a bottle of water.
