Do introverts prefer autumn/winter more?

If you’re a quieter, more introverted person, do you prefer the colder months?
I feel I used to adore summer when younger and more outgoing, but now sort of welcome autumn and winter in more.
Less pressure to be out doing things than on sunny days, I can hide away at home, hide away in winter clothes, less people around (I live in a tourist place) and less going out.
Am I a weirdo 🤣

Ah ok, Scotland was good for skiing a few years ago. Because we all live right by the Cairngorms..Bit irrelevant for most people..

What are you even trying to do here? You've just wanged on about your marvellously outdoor, summery, ACTIVE, paddleboarding life, but someone driving a few miles to ski is...what? People do live in Scotland, you know. Are 'most people' in England?

You made a twerpy post and got called on it.

I was very clearly talking about the cosy/snuggling brigade. Just because my opening line didn’t mention them I went on to explain what I meant

Yeah yeah.

The very first word of the very first response, to the question "do introverts prefer autumn/winter more" is: "Yes!". There then follows a slew of posts saying "well I'm an introvert and I do", which strongly implies a "therefore you are right". Not one of them says: well I'm an introvert and I do but that might just be coincidence.

Not really. Almost half the responses before yours say the opposite. Or say "might just be me".

Nobody has said this, or implied it?

So you agree that some people - about half in fact - have said or implied this? And that "some" isn't the same as "none"?

So it would be true to say, not everyone has said or implied this. I don't u

The snuggling under a duvet always seems to feature very highly in the reasons to enjoy Winter. It does sound lazy to me - sorry.

@Delatron even though you made an exception for illness, your 'lazy' assumption puts you in ableist territory regardless, imho. Lots of conditions force a person to spend a lot of time resting, and people are unlikely to tell you they have such a condition if they know you think relaxing in one's spare time is 'lazy', so presumably you'll write them off as being exactly that?

Also, even for someone who's perfectly healthy, it's not a crime to want to relax in one's spare time. Not all of us enjoy or are good at doing sporty stuff, and many people have very busy/tiring lives these days. It isn't lazy of someone to give their body rest when it needs it.

Yes!

It feels like a big blanket wrapped around me. Spring and summer just feels like someone is shining a giant torch at me and I hate it.

This is exactly what I feel but I couldn't put in words Blush

Delatron · 29/08/2022 15:44

@feistyoneyouare Having a rest is fine.

i dont quite understand the people who use ‘snuggling under a blanket’ as a reason they like an entire (very long) season. I mean how long is one snuggling under this blanket for?

Grin I know what you mean @Delatron

I'm a complete introvert and I prefer spring and early summer.

avocadotofu · 29/08/2022 15:53

Yes I think so! I definitely do anyway!

This, this is exactly how I feel. You worded that so well.
I hate spring/summer. I live in a touristy place too and it is such a nightmare going about our daily life, it takes twice as long and there are so many people everywhere.

Chikapu · 29/08/2022 16:04

Nope, I hate Autumn and Winter.

Presumably in the evenings while watching TV/reading, i.e. things they'd probably be doing anyway in the winter. Just under a blanket. I don't think anyone (medical issues aside) is suggesting they spend 24/7 under a blanket, or spends entire weekends under one.

NotTerfNorCis · 29/08/2022 16:42

I'm an introvert but I love spring and summer for the weather and long days. Christmas means onerous parties.

I'm an introvert and love summer. I really struggle in winter.

RampantIvy · 02/11/2022 20:52

Christmas means onerous parties.

Surely, they are optional?

Theoretically, sure. But we all know it can be bad career logistics to skip work dos, and that swerving get-togethers with friends/family can cause hurt feelings and ruffled feathers. So it does more or less feel mandatory to go to things.
