I was brought up to get up when I wake up and sieze the day. I work long hours full time in the NHS so like to make the most of my days off not sleep them away.
Is it normal for people in their 40s to stay awake all night playing video games and not get up until 3 or 4 in the afternoon. No kids, admin jobs.
Normally none of my business but I've been asked to collaborate in a project with these people and I've lost count of the times I've sat in my car waiting while they get up. Get washed and dressed and have breakfast and then they look half dead for the rest of the afternoon. No mental illness, no disability they just like to sleep during the day
I decided to pull out of the project because I'm fed up of wasting my time hanging about for the. And now my name is mud. AIBU?

Sounds like this is not really the project for you.

Patagonian Pgymy Pigeon.

Goodness! Are you any of those things? 😁

I voted YANBU as you've agreed a time and they were late, so not unreasonable to be annoyed. However generally you would BU to expect people to rise early, everyone is different. I'm an early riser but some are night owls.

There’s such a thing a invisible disabilities.

Maybe not with all of them but just saying. And you may not be privy to everything in their lives. You sound very judgmental.

Kernowfet · 27/08/2022 12:36

Also gotta love that no kids, admin disclaimer. Like not having kids means you’re just a lazy waster and admin, I don’t know, what are you saying there, in the NHS or can mean all sorts. The workload for many of my admin colleagues is horrendous due to backlog and vacancies.

Ah, OP, I get up when I want, except on Wednesdays when I get rudely awakened by the dustmen. But even then it takes me ages - I put my trousers on, have a cup of tea and think about leaving the house. However, fortunately, I don’t have a project to get on with, so I feed the pigeons and sometimes the sparrows too, which gives me a sense of enormous wellbeing. And then I’m happy for the rest of the day…

You need a bit of parklife to help you chill out.

She insulted anyone who disagreed with her. "Mannerless troglodyte," I believe, which is at least original.

oddoneoutalways · 27/08/2022 21:56

I'm just here for the insults, 'mannerless troglodytes' is being added to my list of things to call people who displease me! Grin

ShahRukhKhan · 27/08/2022 23:00

Judging those who keep different preferred hours is unreasonable

Not being up and ready when you have agreed to meet someone at 12 is also unreasonable

Grapewrath · 27/08/2022 23:04

Sleep is sleep- it doesn’t matter when you have it. Some people rise early others are night owls. It doesn’t make you a better or more active person to get up early
They are unreasonable to waste your time so maybe push the time back to say, 2pm. You’ll still be fresh turn and they will have got up and sorted
