Or is behaviour at all inclusive hotels hilarious?

So in the last 2 months, I've been to Dubai, Cyprus and Jamaica, and now I'm in Greece, and 3/4 of those have been all inclusive hotels.

I've got to admit, and I'm as guilty as any, but it's so weird just observing behaviour at all inclusive hotels!

Getting up and starting to drink cheap and sugary cocktails straight away!

Piling 3 plates full at the buffets.

Getting up for 6.30am to nab a subbed before they all run out.

There are probably so many more but I'm just sat at breakfast, after going to get a second full breakfast (though I've had a gastric bypass so it is all relative) and it's made me chuckle.

I'd love to read any other weird behaviours typical of all inclusive holidays!

This is LIGHT HEARTED for those who soon enough will tell me I'm judgemental haha.

I've been around a bit and met lots of nationalities, but it depends on the type of place you visit..

Benidorm - Scummy Brits
San Marino - Nice Brits

I've stayed in beautiful 5 star resorts in Thailand and Bali and met lovely Russians but i've also been to Alanya beach in Turkey and met the 'chav' Russians.

Chinese are the worst overall when it comes to greed and bad manners.

Your post is racist. Do you speak like that at work?

Don't forget to quantify the number of adventure paths, this is key in determining the quality of a hotel!

TripAdvisor is always your friend, we love AI because there's no hassle/stress. Keywords that show up in a lot of reviews give you an indication of what to expect.

But agree on sunbed wars, none of that malarkey here. Plus al la carte at every meal is a definite nice to have (plus pp mentioning adults only).

Reviving this thread to tell you that I'm in an all inclusive hotel right now and to rant that there are two people taking up no less than FOUR beds with all their shots. No one else joining them that I can see. And the bloke has just stepped away from his wife to smoke right next to me. Prick. I'm throwing all their shite in the pool when they go to lunch.

What part was racist ?

I started reading this thread before going on my first ever AI holiday and have just finished reading it now-2 days after my return, and honestly I didn’t come across any of the behaviours stated here, in the 4 star hotel in Tenerife that I stayed in. I didn’t see people over piling even one plate of food, let alone 3 and observed very little waste. I tended to alternate my days with a day out and then a day chilling around the hotel flitting from pool to pool and bar to bar and never once felt the need to stay put or reserve a sun bed for fear of not finding another one. Yes many people (including myself) sometimes started on the ‘cheap, sugary’ cocktails before lunch, but the drinks were cold and refreshing and there was no drunken rowdiness so why not? 🤷🏻‍♀️ Smoking was only allowed at certain areas of the bar and I never observed anyone flouting this (fair enough) rule. Fellow holiday makers were mainly Spanish speaking, English, Irish and Scottish and were friendly, polite and attentive parents to their happy and well behaved kids. So to that grandma who was worried after reading this thread before going on HER first AI holiday, please don’t let it put you off and I hope you have as good a time on your holiday as I and my family did and on ours. 🙂

PinkSyCo I have arrived back after a week AI in Lanzarote and I agree with all your comments.
The hotel ( a 2/3 star was wonderful)
Ample space and tons of sunbeds, no queues at mealtimes at all, despite the hotel being almost full)traditional food ( there was options like pizza, burgers, chips for those that wanted it.)
No piling of plates, no overdrinking, yes sugary cocktails, but also good local wine, fresh juices and spirits.
The atmosphere in the hotel was calm and quiet.
We ate out several times and hired a car to explore.

I think the OP intended this to be light-hearted. Obviously every all inclusive isn't the same. And now that the school holidays are over they're likely to be quieter. I love all all inclusive holiday, but by the end of the week other people are pissing me off so much that I'm glad to go home.

PinkSyCo · 20/09/2022 08:37

Glad you enjoyed your holiday @speakout. @HandbagsnGladrags the thread may have started off as light hearted, but it soon turned into a nasty superiority contest that made pretty horrible reading.

Iwantmyoldnameback · 20/09/2022 08:39

I always wonder how many making snobby comments can actually afford to stay at a 5* all inclusive?

HandbagsnGladrags · 20/09/2022 09:32

@Iwantmyoldnameback I can, and do! But I don't make snobby comments. 😉

KentuckyDerbyandJoan · 20/09/2022 09:42

Hardly ‘hilarious’ 🙄

SherbetDips · 20/09/2022 09:44

Not Normal at any places I’ve been to. But then I avoid all inclusive chav resorts like the plague.

Exactly- why "hilarious"?
People living their lives the way they want to.
May not be your live choice- but it is theirs.
Can you explain why it is funny OP?

People with class don’t use the word ‘chav’…

Last year we went to an AI in Mexico. The six or seven restaurants were amazing, not a buffet in sight except for breakfast and the beach bbq. All first class Michelin Star cuisine. There was so much choice that in the end I had to go without a meal mid day as couldn’t manage the dinner in the evening. All drinks were free, not a drunken bit of behaviour seen all week. All very classy and dignified, was wonderful. Only drawback, put on too much weight. Towels on beds were removed if no one appeared for over an hour.

Ineke · 09/05/2023 17:47

PS, resort was adults only and also had an exclusive hidden away nudist area.
All restaurant were á La Carte, it was a TUI Diamond resort and felt very luxurious, we were made to feel like special guests.

Haha sorry just seen this. I meant the people who say they would never sink so low as to go to an AI.
Fantastic user name by the way.

You stay at cheap hotels - pay a bit more and you’ll get a bit more class
