Hi
I am 44 years old. Mother to one Dd..I am a size 8, 5'2" and currently have 34a/b Cup size
I'm considering going to a D Cup size.
I'm interested to hear from people's.expeiences. of having a breast augmentation.

In particular what was recovery like
What implants did you have
Do.you wish you'd gone larger/smaller/never had it done.
How do you field them now?

My appointment is late September with a view to having them done before Christmas.

Thanks everyone x

Embrace your membership of the Itty Bitty Titty Comittee, OP.

It’s great. They stay pert, everything fits, and you can go without a bra in the summer.

I've clearly done something wrong then because aged 48, my 32Bs are certainly not pert! They're not to my waist but all the limited amount of fat has certainly sunk to the bottom of the boob.

In the meantime, the meno belly is getting harder to keep under control and my previously slim pear shape is now rather more full. An enlargement would help balance that out a bit. Dresses for example are a nightmare - to get big enough to be comfy on the waist means there's way too much material up top.

Big boobs are out of fashion

Apparently they are!

I'm an 'A cup, but am completely happy with this as I don't need to wear a bra, but it's especially convenient for sport. Though they're getting bigger in peri menopause, something I hadn't considered.

If you're a size 8 clothes then a 34 inch band is almost certainly too big for you, and so the cups will be too small. If you have a look at boob or Bust on Facebook they have a measuring guide, you're probably more likely to be around a 28d (which is still a small size, not all d cups are the same, they vary with the band size).

As for whether you get a boob job, I cant comment other than to wish you luck and I hope it all goes well!

This with every single bell on it

To be honest @MondaysChild7 it sounds very much like you're the one who's being touchy because you've had boob job, and so you are taking offence from anyone saying that it's is bad idea, and are responding with aggression.

Not everyone agrees with your choices - get over it

You’re the one calling other people ‘cheap’ which is misogynistic in itself.

Those before and afters were interesting. Not one of the afters looked at all natural. Far too round. Normal boobs don’t look like that. I am really flat chested & have been since breastfeeding- I’m also very thin which doesn’t help matters ( I look like number the really thin one in the photos - 7 I think it was) but at 46 I have come to terms with it. I wear padded bras so I have a bit more shape & just embrace the fact they won’t get in the way & clothes fit me really well. I used to think I wanted implants but now I’m just happy that I’m healthy. I also have teenage daughters & I would hate for them to think invasive & life threatening surgery was a good idea just to have bigger boobs. Not a great example to give IMO.

Anon778833 · 27/08/2022 13:43

I think that what a lot of people don’t realise is that it’s not always about bigger boobs either but shape. I had decent boobs and then after breastfeeding for quite a few years, they lost all volume. I wanted them back to how they were. In fact, they turned out better than they had been in the first place. If you’re not happy with something and can do something about it then why not? It’s not really for anyone else to judge.

I am a size 6-8 5'1 weigh around 8 Stone Age 32 got them done 4 years ago I was an a/b before got 350cc and 425cc as I was odd size they are now a double d I love them sooo much I love my figure so much they give me so much confidence wearing any outfit ( I don't really wear low cut tops) but the fit is just so much there I highly recommend it I also went under the muscle . Op you are not too old life is too short do what makes you happy. If you don't get them done you might look back and regret not going ahead with it also mines look quite natural even though they are round shaped

They do take time to settle into shape. I was happy with mine about 3 months after but really it was over a year before they settled into a teardrop shape and started to move like normal boobs. You can get implants that are teardrop shaped (I saw another surgeon about those). I decided against it as I'm a stomach sleeper who moves a lot. There's a small risk they could turn but it was a risk I decided I'd rather live without. It's the "anatomique" ones here www.sarfati-aesthetic-institute.com the ronde being the usual round ones obviously.

You're unlikely to have 'zero' breasts, quite honestly.

It is possible I am a 30aaa, completely flat all bar my nipples. Even when breastfeeding I only went to a 30a. I wouldn't get a boob job though. I dont quite get the risk and expense either.

SagittariusDwarf · 27/08/2022 15:17

I had a boob job with Bupa nearly 20 years ago. Went from a 32aa (if that) to a 32D/DD. For me, it's been an entirely positive experience. I do know some people who have had issues with implants and had them taken out. But also know many who have been totally fine. I spent ages researching surgeons and would suggest you do the same.

sekactao · 27/08/2022 15:32

They do take time to settle into shape.

Mine didn't take very long. A week or so. Certainly not months. They just look like my boobs did previously, only bigger. Nothing like the before or after examples in the previous link. My surgeon recommended a 225cc low profile implant for a natural result and that is what I had.

If you want a fake look, a higher volume, high profile implant would be better.

Acornacorn · 27/08/2022 19:34

I really do have zero breasts. A few months ago my two year old asked where my boobies are as I was naked and she could see my nipples but couldn’t see any boobies.
I’m happy with my decision. But surprised just how judgemental people are and at how little people seem to try and understand.

roxy2006 · 23/03/2023 10:55

Did you go ahead with the surgery in the end OP? If so how did it all go?

Peterrabbitcandoone · 23/03/2023 14:05

Hi roxy2006
I have another appointment to discuss sizing tomorrow and then was going to decide. Its going to involve liposuction as well and I'm leaning towards not having it done as I'm worried about the recovery time.

Thanks for checking in. The responses on here were very insightful as always.
Take care

It's definitely a big decision but only you know what't right for you. What surgeon will you use?

Peterrabbitcandoone · 23/03/2023 14:15

I've picked the top female at a private hospital local to me. She specialises in cancer/reconstruction.
