Hi
I am 44 years old. Mother to one Dd..I am a size 8, 5'2" and currently have 34a/b Cup size
I'm considering going to a D Cup size.
I'm interested to hear from people's.expeiences. of having a breast augmentation.

In particular what was recovery like
What implants did you have
Do.you wish you'd gone larger/smaller/never had it done.
How do you field them now?

My appointment is late September with a view to having them done before Christmas.

Thanks everyone x

I am the same age as you op, i have not had any desire to enlarge mine, I am size 34A and at my age would not consider the risk even if I wanted to. Reading the comments, there’s a mixed bag of people who have problems and people who don’t, but the comment that caught my eye was @erikbloodaxe re looking matronly by mid 50’s. Your body is likely to go through an unpredictable change over the next 5-10 years and you don’t know how that will affect your looks, health etc. With a Dd to look after, I would leave well alone. Good luck with whatever you choose to do.

Feelfreetocallme · 26/08/2022 21:07

I don’t understand why you’d want to go through all of that just for bigger boobs. I’m sure you are lovely looking such as you are.

PurdyLilThang · 26/08/2022 21:09

I really wouldn’t. You’re naturally petite. Embrace it and buy a couple of pretty padded bras. It’s such a brutal thing, to cut open your breasts and put silicone inside! I’d make peace with your natural shape now you’re in your 40s and be glad you’re healthy.

minipie · 26/08/2022 21:23

I agree with the comment above that at 5’2 and a size 8, you may well not be a 34 band. So your cup size may be larger than you think.

I am 5’3 and size 8 on top half. I spent years wearing badly fitting 34B. I’m actually more like a 28DD or 30D. Such a difference.

If sagginess is a problem I would very much recommend upper body workouts (press ups especially) to build up pecs - it really does help lift smaller boobs - I don’t know if it’s as effective on larger ones.

I would have thought suddenly increasing breast size in your 40s is a recipe for stretched sagging breasts, tbh, as the skin isn’t as elastic any more. Unless you would also get the skin reduced but that’s a much bigger op.

Mumonthedge · 26/08/2022 21:58

I had mine done because as a teen I had Ds and then they suddenly went to saggy As. I went back to a D and was so happy with them.

Then I got pregnant and they went up to GGs and stayed that way until I stopped breastfeeding. I hated them, they were too big! Now they are back to saggy spaniel ears (but still a D).

I don’t regret having them done, I just regret having them before I had kids.

GretaVanFleet · 26/08/2022 22:00

I’m size 10, 5’7” and the same breast size so I would think that you would look completely in proportion. The only thing that I think you need to consider is the maintenance. If you’re 44 will you want, and could you afford replacement implants at approx. 60 then again at 75? If not, then the implications of having them removed at that age.

Nanny0gg · 26/08/2022 22:00

I used to be a 34 AA/A.

Due to pregnancy, breast feeding, weight gain and age I'm now a 36C (probably bigger)
I hate it and wish I had my old ones back. I loved having small, neat boobs

TheDogsMother · 26/08/2022 22:11

Just a consideration OP but menopause or maybe HRT can cause a bigger bust. Since I started HRT I have developed a matronly bust and weight gain much like when I first when on the pill. I'm 5ft 2 so I hate the look.

Greenginghamdress · 26/08/2022 22:13

I wouldn't.
I have no personal experience but a woman I know (who had an amazing figure btw) had them done in her late 30s and she felt they were too big and they caused her great anxiety to the point she had them removed. She feels herself again now, however quite an expensive mistake.

I did consider them myself at one time but agree with a PP who said that being small chested is now fashionable. Also, do you run, go to gym or exercise? All much easier with small boobs. When I lost weight and went down to a 30D/32B my PBs were amazing! 🤣

I think life can be easier with smaller boobs, and I like mine now. I second boob or bust for measuring, you may find you are a 30D or something.

Firty · 26/08/2022 22:35

My lawyer friend has done a lot of litigation for clients with leaking breast implants. It’s much more common than you’d think.

I wouldn’t risk it personally. The pain if it goes wrong is considerable.

Chesneyhawkes1 · 26/08/2022 22:43

I've just turned 44 and been on HRT since I was 41 and mine didn't get any bigger.

Plus I run 40-45 miles a week and they don't get in way at all. And they deffo haven't slowed me down. I ran a half marathon quicker than when I was 24 and had no boobs 😂

bawsy · 26/08/2022 22:46

Bigger boobs aren't all that.

I'm nearing 40 now and swear to god I look like something out of Carry On Matron. I look fat regardless how the rest of me looks. Would love a little chest where I could go bra free.

Think about it carefully

Whataboutno · 26/08/2022 22:54

I would never, the thought of having silicone in there makes me feel weird! I have literally no boobs but have gotten quite used to it and to actually have them there would feel odd to me now. Even in pregnancy when they got slightly bigger it kind of felt wrong!

Aquamarine1029 · 26/08/2022 23:02

I think you'd have to be mad to risk your health for bigger tits. It's insane. I've known three people who got implants, two cousins and one friend, and they all had to have them removed within three years due to very, very horrible rejection/encapsulation. I don't understand why anyone would violate their body this way.

I'm an E cup and I absolutely loathe them. You can have mine, if you want...

Thelnebriati · 26/08/2022 23:11

I don't think anyone is unreasonable to want to change something about themselves but as far as cosmetic surgery goes I'll say one thing - don't get anything done until you have the money saved to get it reversed.

Goldencarp · 26/08/2022 23:14

Don’t do it unless you’ll have the money to get new ones if there is a problem.

i had 500cc 15 years ago. I’m a 16 on top now and to be honest my boobs make me look fat. I have capsular contracture in the left which is painful and its starting to look deformed. I don’t have £5k to get them sorted.

biggest regret ever.

MintyGreenDreams · 26/08/2022 23:15

I had my first 10 years ago .Went from an A to a D.Three years ago had them redone as I'd never been happy with them after I'd had ds 5 years previously.I went from a D to an F.
I love having bigger boobs but you need to research your surgeon thoroughly ideally one who does nhs work aswell so you know they reputable.
Pain for me lasted around 3 weeks.

Stickmansmum · 26/08/2022 23:15

Urgh, big boobs are an absolute hindrance. They don’t look half as good in clothes. They make sport and exercise more difficult and many men equate them with how much of an object you are. I just don’t understand why you would damage your body to make them bigger and rounder.

MintyGreenDreams · 26/08/2022 23:16

Sorry had them first done 15 years ago then again 3 years ago

Goldencarp · 26/08/2022 23:17

To add if you are a size 8 I’m almost 100% certain you are not a 34 band. I’m a 16 and wear a 32 band.

you can’t go to “d” cup as that means nothing in terms of size. A 30D is much smaller than 34D.

Homewardbound2022 · 26/08/2022 23:18

I had breast surgery this year (not implants) having considered it for a very long time.
If you do decide to proceed, ask your GP to recommend a surgeon.

Peterrabbitcandoone · 27/08/2022 05:39

Thank you very much for all the comments. Off to get my bra size measured ;) and I hadn't considered having to get them redone at 60 and 75.
Thanks ladies x

This is going to sound a bit ageist I guess but here goes… I could understand going for a bit of a lift but at 44 is going from small to massive boobs really a good investment? Are you really going to be flaunting your assets like a 20 something in the years to come? It sounds like the equivalent of a middle aged man buying an over expensive car due to mid-life crisis.

Soooooo, you can only look good when you're in your 20s, but at 44 OP should just invest in a coffin?

Nameandgamechange123 · 27/08/2022 06:46

I don't understand why anyone would literally risk their life to get bigger boobs.
