Would you be happy with your partner sitting on other women's laps?

And dancing intimately with them at 4am (even if they didn't kiss)
I've read the articles about the Finnish PM. I think it's ridiculous that she's being criticised for going to a nightclub with friends, and enjoying herself. Boris and co have done far worse.
However I do feel a bit bad for her husband. She was caught dancing quite intimately with some hip hop singer and sitting on different men's laps.
How would you feel honestly if your partner did this?

Am I the only one who finds going to a nightclub at 35 kind of cringe? I’m 32 and would feel way too old to be clubbing.

Sorry I forgot people are supposed to drink cocoa only and listen to Smooth Radio after the age of 30. I am 50 and go to nightclubs.

People who set arbitrary age limits on any kind of behaviour are desperately sad IMHO.

HRTQueen · 20/08/2022 16:34

I didn’t say I would disbelieve a drugs test and I ah s said I believe it was in use that doesn’t necessarily mean her

i am aware how how testing works/the time frame so will her advisors be (cocaine also at times is down to contamination rare but it happens)

Country leaders private lives have always been under scrutiny or what they say/do in private and so they should be. It’s nothing new but social media is I would expect a country leader to keep that in mind

greywinds · 20/08/2022 16:39

Can you imagine the eye bleach needed if you'd seen a video of Boris dirty dancing? The Hancock karoke was bad enough!

Even if she was at a party where people were doing coke, so what? She didn't...

We already have a huge lack of quality politicians due to the obsessive muck racking on social media, phone camera filming.

Whoever leaked the footage should face invasion of privacy charges.

Anon778833 · 20/08/2022 16:41

I wouldn’t like it.

LydiaBennetsUglyBonnet · 20/08/2022 16:42

I’d be a bit worried for the women TBH, my DH is a gym freak so very muscly, stocky and heavy, he’d probably suffocate them!

Florenz · 20/08/2022 16:55

It's a bad look for the PM to be in a room with people who look like they're on illegal drugs, regardless of whether they were or not.

Tryingtogetaflatstomach · 20/08/2022 16:56

She's maybe let her position go to her head a bit and was acting a bit much, even if she's fully entitled to go out and have fun like anybody else is

Was a bad look for boris when they were finding coke in the toilets near his office, people didn’t care. Two things at play here she is a female b young (for a politician let alone leader)

A lot of people did care, it was widely reported and Boris was criticised. If people didn't care, no-one would know about it.

No. You're not dead at 35. Thankfully the Finnish are less uptight than us.

I’m not talking about going to a bar I’m talking about nightclubs, have you been to a nightclub recently?! It’s 90% teens/early twenties. I can’t have fun because I don’t want to be a weirdo jumping around with sweaty teenagers? Ok. Weird.

‘Let her position go to her head’ meaning what, exactly? What does that even mean? She got too big for her boots? She should know her place? All this sitting on laps (not your business, you’re not her husband) and having the audacity to DANCE IN PUBLIC?!

faints

No, I’m directly stating (not implying) that you are immature for finding it ‘cringe’ that other people do something after an arbitrary age cutoff. Nobody is saying you should or shouldn’t do anything.

I see that your reading comprehension is also woefully underdeveloped. Most unfortunate. You currently look ridiculous and I’m finding you exceedingly cringe.

So, now she’s being judged for who is in the same room as her? It’s a ‘bad look’ for her to be in the same space as people who look like (no proof that they were) they were on drugs?

This honestly seems like a reasonable sentiment to you?

So, I’m bitter and unpleasant because I think people should be able to enjoy themselves however they choose; and you are apparently sweet and pleasant because you’ve decided that anyone who doesn’t behave as you deem appropriate is ‘cringe’? That makes perfect sense. Well done. 😂

Sweetheart, I'm younger than you. And the only person who appears to be having a cry here is you. Have a tissue.

But what has all this got to do with Boris Johnson? She's Finnish not British. The fuss had been made by Finnish groups not British. I dare say if she had a dance here, it would meet with similar apathy to coke in Westminster toilets.

  • I’m more than six months younger than you. So, you referring to me as an OAP because I disagree with you is quite entertaining.
  • I actually don’t like clubbing at all. If you actually read this conversation, you’ll see that I never said I did. Again, reading comprehension is fairly important.
  • The fact that you cannot countenance anyone disagreeing with your puerile judgement of others’ pastimes unless they enjoy that pastime themselves is illustrative of your immature understanding of baseline human decency.
  • You call people things like ‘bitter and unpleasant’ and say you’re happy they are (in your head) unhappy, yet are indignant when said people patronise you. Again, zero understanding of how to interact with other human beings.
Would you like another tissue or are you done embarrassing yourself? As you are so patently ridiculous that I’m getting bored.

I’m allowed to think it’s cringe to go clubbing. Why are you SO OFFENDED? If someone thought one of my hobbies was cringe worthy I wouldn’t care because I’m not defensive about any of my hobbies. You’re calling me comment “puerile”? 😂 Have a word with yourself.

And if you’re going to pretend to be younger than you are maybe check to make sure you didn’t start another thread on this site saying you’re “in your thirties”.

Yes, I’m in my thirties. I’m also younger than you. This…is confusing to you?

I’m not offended. I’m not the one posting in ALL CAPS or scouring MN for the other person’s posts. That’s you. I think your opinion is puerile and I’ve said why. I’ve been perfectly clear.

You claim that you wouldn’t be care if someone thought your hobbies were cringeworthy, but appear to be extremely upset (and defensive) about someone thinking that your opinions are puerile. Not being particularly consistent, there.

If you are younger than me (doubtful) you are months younger than me in your thirties. You were clearly trying to imply you are younger than you are, embarrassing. And I recognised your username so assumed you’d been vile on this site before & wanted to check.

All I said was I personally found it cringeworthy to go clubbing at that age, other people disagreed with me which is fine, you’re the only one with such a nasty tone. If you’re so defensive about your hobby that’s something you need to work on.

‘Thirties’ begin at 30. There are two years between 30 and 32. Again, I’m not trying to imply anything. I’m making direct statements. I’m not responsible for your shaky grasp of mathematics.

I recognised your username and remembered you’d been silly. I didn’t need to check. I didn’t bring it up, as it wasn’t relevant, but I remember you having your arse handed to you on the ‘friends of the opposite sex’ thread, as well. You’re consistently nonsensical, at least.

All I’ve said is that I personally find your opinion immature. You’re the one who got nasty and has had posts deleted, not me. If you’re so defensive about your opinions, that’s something you need to work on.

I have given you enough of my time, so I’m now going to leave you to it. Feel free to have the last word. 😊

Loics · 20/08/2022 19:48

@Cherchezlaspice I guess us OAPs in our thirties just need to stop being SO OFFENDED.

😁

I can imagine my mum's reaction (in her 50s) at your 30s being considered as "too old" for most things, after she stopped laughing!
